 Hi  Navaneeth,

 I  have  a  feeling  that  you  have  been  kidding  us  by  saying  you  are  new  to  planted  tanks.

 You  are  not  a  amature  by  any  stretch  of  imagination.  It  looks  like  it  has  been  done  by  a  pro.

 Way  to  go.  Beautiful  tank.

 Regards,
 Nayak.

 Lovely  tank!  get  some  fine  leaved  plants  to  add  depth  to  it.
 This  is  how  you  attach  a  picture  from  gallery;
 Open  the  picture  from  gallery  in  640x...  or  800x...  format>right  click  on  it,  to  get  the  pop  down  menu>  select  properties  from  the  menu>a  small  window  will  appear  with  the  title  'Element  Properties'>copy  the  link  beside  location  between  [img]  [/img],  your  picture  is  attached.

 Navneeth,

 Excellent  start,  do  keep  us  posted  on  the  progress.  What  plant(s)  are  you  going  to  use  for  the  foreground?  For  B'lore  weather,  29C  is  on  the  higher  side  considering  that  it  has  started  raining,  check  with  Harshal  if  he  can  attach  a  fan  to  the  lighting  hood  ,  this  will  bring  down  the  temperature  by  a  couple  of  degrees  and  you  can  grow  some  more  varieties  of  plants.

 I  would  suggest  that  you  go  with  either  Cardinals  or  neons  and  get  some  other  schooling  fishes  like  Harlequin  Rasbora  (after  the  tank  is  fully  cycled)

 You  can  also  add  some  varieties  of  crypts  and  Hemianthus  micranthemoides
 http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/forumapc/plantfinder/details.php?id=33,  sourcing  them  in  B'lore  should  not  be  a  problem  at  all

 Regards
 Bala

 @ajith
 Thanks

 by  the  way  ..guys...  how  long  should  i  keep  the  lights  on?  how  many  hours  in  a  day??  and  i  had  introduced  a  few  platies  and  and  a  pair  of  mollies.i  found  the  mollies  and  one  platie  dead  today  morning?  any  specific  reason??  Temp  is  too  high??the  other  fishes  are  doing  fine  as  of  now...and  am  doing  50%  water  change  every  two  days  just  to  get  the  tank  cycled...is  ithis  ok??

 am  still  waiting  for  the  remainin  Planted  tank  Gurus  to  comment  and  waiting  for  their  feedback  and  advice.

 Hey  Navneeth,
 Nice  setup  man!   Thumb Up
 Your  tank  temp  is  high  because  you  have  the  lighting  tightly  fit  over  the  tank.   Try  if  you  can  make  it  such  that  the  lighting  equipment  is  around  6"  above  the  tank.   That  could  bring  your  temperature  down  atleast  by  2  degrees.   As  the  tank  shapes  up,  get  a  CO2  Reactor  and  until  then  place  the  power  head  in  such  a  way  that  those  minute  CO2  bubbles  are  spread  over  most  of  the  plants.   In  the  mid-ground  you  can  add  some  more  anubias/ferns  and  foreground  you  can  go  for  E.tennelus  which  is  a  pretty  hardy  runner  and  grows  like  weed.
