Hamza,  I  agree  on  it.  But  the  possibility  I  took  is  much  rare.  If  am  wrong  on  the  prediction,  I  withdraw  my  comments.

Transparent  tube  would  help  identify  any  particle   clogging  the  holes  of  the  spray  bar  and  would  look  much  decent.  Smile

 Hamza

Small  bits  of  dead  leaves  and  a  little  mud  definitely  reach  the  pipe  for  some  reason,  but  to  ensure  there  is  no  clogging  and  to  deacrease  the  force,  its  recommended  that  the  holes  be  a  bit  bigger  than  3-5  mm  (depending  on  the  length  of  the  pipe  too.)

Mitra:  That  was  only  for  a  week..  now  i  am  only  using  the  samll  pwer  head  for  Co2  diffusin..  This  idea  was  playing  in  my  mind,  so  i  just  kinda  tried  it  for  a  week  and  once  i  was  happy  i  have  neatly  packed  up  everthing  for  now..  My  bio   load  is  very  low  at  the  momebr,  just  a  small  angel  fish,  3  small  rams  and  a  Otto  in  a  26  G  tank,  so  am  totally  relying  on  the  natures  ways  of  filtering..  needles  also  am  performing  10-15  %  wc  every  2-3  days  so  its  all  okay  :-)

That's  pretty  good  chat  and  helping  a  lot  to  me.  I  will  make  those  arrangements  in  a  day  or  two  to  have  the  power  filter  running.  Just  this  evening  had  gone  behind  to  fit  second  CO2  diffuser  and  saw  the  rotall  roudifoolia  shooting  new  leafs  at  the  back  yard  of  tank.  Because  of  running  the  power  filter  I  had  two  banana  leafs  floating  over  the  surface  and  saw  them  today  shoot  a  new  leaf  each.

I  think  the  Ocean  Free  Absolute  Plant  Base  along  with  lighting  and  CO2  works  good.  Will  make  the  photograph  over  the  week  end  and  update  you  all.

Once  again,  thank  you  all  for  your  ideas  and  suggestions.

Ravi,  good  luck  with  your  venture.

I  am  not  into  planted  aquariums.  Only  know  to  appreciate  a  good  finished  job.  :  )  Try  to  post  pictures  of  the  WIP.

 Hi,

Ravi  if  you  are  not  too  much  into  DIY  stuff,  get  hold  of  dancing  airstone  /  airtube  ?  from  Taiyo  i  think.

It  is  basically  an  acrylic  tube  (transparent)  with  fine  holes  on  the  surface.
You  just  need  to  make  maybe  5-10  of  the  fine  holes  bigger  using  a  nail  (1"  or  1.5")  heated  up  and  pressed  into  the  existing  apertures.

It  is  simple  &  also  comes  with  a  couple  of  suction  caps  so  no  issues  on  sticking  it  to  the  glass.

 Hope  this  helps.

 Rgds

 Prabhu

 Hi
the  DIY  CO2  solution  in  the  bottle  seems  to  have  red/brown  tinge.  Is  that  normal?
 Mine  stay  opalescent  white  throughout.

@  Shankar,  thanks  and  will  come  up  with  recent  pictures  for  you!

@  Prabhu,  thanks  for  the  idea!  I  will  get  it  next  time  when  I  go  Kolathur  or  if  I  find  then  in  any  LFS.

@Unni,  that's  the  same  coloring  I  too  have  on  my  two  of  the  CO2  DIY  bottles.  They  supply  fair  amount  of  CO2  to  my  tank.  And  plants  are  happily  leafing  now.  Waiting  to  get  plants  moved  over  to  right  places  and  pictures  for  you  then.  Since  its  my  first  planted  tank,  it  was  planted  in  a  rough  way.  And  as  mentioned  early,  the  power  filter  uprooted  some  and  I  planted  them  back  in  some  other  position.  Please  let  me  take  a  week  or  more  to  give  you  some  real  good  resulted  tank  photos  Smile  Thanks  for  your  suggestions  and  comments.

 Hello  Folks,

Â Was  gifted  a  lot  of  new  varieties  of  plants  last  weekend  by  Prem  Â Cheering  and  added  them  to  the  tank  along  with  the  long  time  pending  drift  wood  Â Rock On

Â Thank  you  a  lot  Prem  Â Very Happy

Â Not  started  scaping  as  plants  are  still  growing  along  with  me  Â ROFL
and  needing  to  have  CO2  pressurized  setup  along  with  filtration.  Once  I  have  them  place,  I  would  try  to  introduce  some  more  plants  in  place  of  cabomba  and  banana  leafs.  So  far,  pretty  happy  with  the  way  the  plants  grow.  Thank  you  for  all  of  you  for  giving  the  idea/suggestions  and  support.  Â Here  is  the  updated  picture  of  the  tank  for  you.  I  need  to  try  taking  some  good  pictures  i  think  Smile
Few  more  on  the  album  My  IAH  Album.

 Hi  Ravi,
 Welcome  to  "big  tank"  family.
I  have  setup  a  planted  tank  same  size  of  yours  just  3  weeks  back.  I  have  posted  the  hardware  details  "My  new  planted  tank  into  it's  3rd  week".  The  system  is  working  fine  and  after  two  weeks  I  was  having  crystal  clear  water  after  the  initial  haze  -  not  as  much  as  you  have  described  but  it  was  there.  May  be  my  details  it  will  be  of  use  to  you.

River  sand  will  pack  hard  when  it  is  wetted  because  it  has  a  lot  of  finesand  increases  the  chances  of  having  gases  traped  in  the  substrate  due  to  poor  permiability.  This  will  affect  the  health  of  your  fish.  You  must  make  sure  it  is  1-3  mm  and  not  0  (fines)  -  3  mm.

All  the  best.  Do  let  us  have  the  photographs  when  completed.

 Maninder

 Dear  Ravi
Nice  looking  tank.  ne  suggestion  why  not  put  the  echinodorus  at  the  back  side  corner.  It  will  enhance  the  beauty  more.
 Regards
 Kaushik
