i  need  to  get  new  fish  for  my  freshwater  tank  in  madras.is  this  a  good  time  of  the  year.  i  normally  go  to  gem  aquarists  in  josier  street.  are  there  any  better  sources?  i'd  also  welcome  suggestions  on  what  types  of  fish  go  well  in  a  community  tank.
 thanks  moahan

Moahan,  see...  there  are  a  million  ways  you  can  set  up  a  tank.  Once  you  let  us  know  what  setup  you  are  planing(as  in  a  setup  with  rocks,  or  plants),  we  could  probably  suggest.

It  also  depends  mainly  on  your  personal  likings  too.  I  have  a  friend  who  loves  goldfish  to  such  an  extent  that  he  even  swears  by  them.  But  they  somehow  dont  appeal  to  me,  IYKWIM.

If  you  are  my  kind,  I  would  suggest  an  arowana.

Moahan  what  type  of  community  tank  are  you  planning  ?
With  cichlids?  or  barbs  and  the  like?  or  do  you  have  something  else  in  mind?  Will  it  be  a  regional  community  (  asian  fish,  amazonian  varieties,  african  cichlids,  S.American  cichlids  ).  It  would  give  us  great  pleasure  to  suggest  a  few  things  to  you  and  learn  from  others  when  they  express  their  opinion.
