The coccina and brownorum is getting more rarer in the hobby. Both species collected from Malaysia ........ majority of the habitat destroyed to make way for development. My guess is that one would have to go further inland to do the collection now .A visit by a friend to some locations of the lividas and tussyaes reveals most of the blackwater streams by the road side now littered with wood chips from excavation works for road widening projects .

Thats a real shame. Well i do have a pair of the Betta coccina and a few f1 brownorum from David Armitage. The thing is the wild male is now dead and the youngsters with me are the only surviving f1s. So no pressure . Stefan was here in Scotland for a couple of days and Colin, Stefan and I went on a days trip to some fish shops in England. No Betta other than Betta enisae. But was a good trip et up with some more guys down there. Also they had Malputta kretseri but knowing its value it was very well priced at £20 a piece.
