Hi,
Can anyone please suggest me a good cannister Filter other than Eheim (because of cost factor ) for my 260L (69 US gallons) planted tank.
What should be the flow rate and its availabilty. |

Hi Sen:
You can go to either 'Matsyavatar' OR 'Seabirds Aquarium' OR 'Zooland'...
Currently they are stocking Dolphin, Atman and Azoo...
You can check out the flow rates and pricing...
The prices vary from Rs.3000 ~ Rs.5000...
Bargain, you get a good price...
You'll need to change the 'Filter Media' though...

Hi
Recently one of my friend staying in Chennai got me an Atman EF 3 exteral cannister filter. I know next to nothing about assembling them and this filter didn't carry any instruction manual also.
- Has anyone used this particular model?
- how is the perfomance?
- Will it be suitable for my 4ft x 1ft aquarium?It says 1000 l/hr
- It didn't come with any media in it. I am thinking of using gravel and foam in another. is that okay?
- Also, what is the cap in the centre which is marked close and open.
- What is meant by priming? Do i have to do that in this model also?
- Dos anyone know of any web-site that carries an instruction manual for this particular brand?

You can also consider DYMAX Can Filter, they're coming at a price less than 3K...

Hi Nag,
Does ASK sell canister filters through their outlet in bangalore. Please let me know, i wanted some for the oscar tanks. I am not ready to risk buying it from zooland and other outlets ..

Speaking of which... im looking for some filters too.
I'm setting up a 270 ltr brakkish water tank for Ceylon Puffers and it's just the first day of cycling.
Need to learn abt this tho:
- How do I Brakkish-ofy my tank? (how much salt? what kind? etc)
- What Filters are best for Ceylon Puffers?
- Can u suggest any inexpensive ones?
- What kind of plants can a brakkish water tank have?
im an absolute rookie, so kindly bear
