Last April I bought a 5ft tank its size is 5x2x2 the glass is 12mm, but my parents dint like that tank because 5 ft tank is look like a freezer and also its not good to
To keep in our home so they scold me so that I remake it into 4ft with the help of my Lfs.
Now the tank is used as community tank its size is 4x2x2.
Right now I am having 3peice of same length of the separated portion of the previous tank (5x2x2)2x1x1 12mm glass
Yesterday I took them to my Lfs to make a new tank size is 2x1x1 fts so I need the side portion (width) ,the person said to me he can affix 5mm glass for the side portion
this tank along with the 12 mm glass.
As per the Lfs person, the tank glass is 12mm and 5mm, the basement and the two length portion are 12mm glass then width portion of the tank is 5mm glass
I know its not correct for buildup a tank, but if the tank is on above mentioned
Measurements, it will get damage due to surface tension of water?
Pls give me your valuable advice.

Surface tension of water will not damage anything, pressure will. for a 2 X 1 X 1 tank you an use 5 mm for sides, but to be on the safer side use 6mm instead. there should not be a big price difference.
