Hi All,
I am new to Planted tanks. I have been reading about nutrient dosing, EI and other regimes.
Please advice what types of dosing you are following ?, Where can i find good articles to read up?.
FYI : Planning to set up a 180 gallon planted tank with Co2 and Medium light levels. |

Thanks Prem,
I have gone through this, I have some doubts though.
Below are the dosing instructions:-
100 - 125 Gallon Aquarium
+/- 1 1/2 tsp KN03 3x a week
+/- ½ tsp KH2P04 3x a week
+/- ½ tsp (30ml) Trace Elements 3x a week
50% weekly water change
Q1) For trace elements, Do we add Microsol-B ?
Q2) how would the dosing change for a moderately lit tank ... Say 2 watts/gallon?
Q3) what substrate to go for? How much ADA soil will be needed for a 6x2x2 setup? |

1. Yes, I use Microsol-B
2. It depends on many factors, plants, light, etc. You can start with half the recommended dosage and increase accordingly.
3. You will need 113 liters, close to 12 or 13 bags of ADA soil. If you can afford it nothing like it. |

| To add on, go for 18 inch or 21 inch height tank so you will be able to grow some froground plants. |

You can use Chuck's Planted Aquarium Calculator for calculating dosage and CO2. The compounds referenced in the nutrient calculator can be obtained from any stores that sell chemicals to labs.

KNO3 and K2SO4 can be picked up from Dawa Bazaar or your local lab supplier.. Try using justdial.com for chemical suppliers for your local listings..
MicrosolB will be difficult to get in Mumbai, so far haven't got any leads in Mumbai, I got my requirement from Deepak Brid (Aquadeep), try contacting him.
