 Hey  Sudhir,

I  dont  think  the  moss  was  enough,  drop  by  when  you  find  time  and  pick  up  some  more.  I  also  have  some  good  rocks  as  well.

The  air  should  be  blowing  on  the  water  surface  and  not  away.  Add  a  black  background.

 Cheers,
 Prem

sure  prem  ill  find  time  and  come  over.  anyways,if  the  fans  pull  out  air  from  the  tank  ...more  evaporation  and  consequent  cooling  right.so  what  difference  is  it  gonna  make??

 Sudhir,
This  is  what  we  thought  as  well  when  Vincent(Aquastar)  told  us  to  have  th  e  fan  to  blow  airto  the  surface  of  the  water.  We  were  able  to  cool  the  tank  lot  better  in  this  way.  The  only  downside  is  that  you  will  have  to  top  off  every  2  days.

 Regards
 Bala

Hi  Sudhir,  good  startup.  I  made  same  setup  as  Bala  and  Prem  suggested  and  am  able  to  maintain  a  constant  25  deg  here  in  Chennai.  Even  I  had  setup  2  fans  for  my  4  footer  which  brought   the  temperature  down  from  29  to  26-27.  Only  job  here  is  to  top  up.

Add  some  more  moss  and  replace  couple  of  small  stones  with  larger  ones.  This  would  add  more  beauty  to  the  setup.  Good  luck  and  keep  posted   Thumb Up

@  thanks  ravi  Smile   .yes  after  reversing  i  can  actually  see  the  effect.  i  don  have  a  thermometer  but  i  can  feel  the  glass  is  relatively  way  cooler  then  it  has  to  be.my  idea  is  to  cover  the  whole  base  so  once  it  is  covered  the  rocks  wouldn  be  seen.  anyways  will  go  for  bigger  ones

A  very  promising  start  indeed...   Clapping

I  would  suggest  you  keep  the  larger  rocks  that  you  are  planning  to  use  plain,  i.e  no  moss  on  it-might  look  good,  btw  dont  take  my  ideas  without  testing  it  as  Im  not  much  of  an  aquascapist.

Nice  DIY  with  the  thermocol  Wink  I  hope  you  have  left  some  good  gaps  for  the  air  to  flow  out...keep  us  posted.

the  moss  being  tied  upto  smooth  rocks  will  give  problem  while  cleaning  (if  in  case  the  moss  becomes  dirty  and  you  have  to  take  it  out  to  wash).  in  this  case  the  moss  will  deattach  from  the  stone.
it  is  always  better  to  attach  them  to  rugged  stones.

 @mudassar

oh.  ill  take  that  tip  now  that  i  cant  remove  the  existing  stones  ill  make  sure  its  tied  onto  rugged  stones  further

if  it  is  going  to  be  only  moss  you  can  skip  the  co2.
 what  are  the  tank  dimensions?
