 Items  Used:
 1)  Plastic  container:  Turtle  feed  box  (4.5"  Dia  x  5"  Ht)
 2)  Metal  mesh  (3.2"x3.2")
 3)  Glue:  M-Seal
 4)  Tools  such  as  cutter,  marker,  time  &  lots  of  patience  etc.,

Total  Time:  Half  an  hour  including  M-Seal  drying  time

Container  box  and  the  cap  of  the  box

Mesh  ---  The  top  container  cap  is  cut-to-size  to  fit  the  bottom  of  the  container  tightly

Mesh  is  cut  to  required  size  of  container  bottom  &  fixed  using  M-Seal.
M-Seal  also  makes  the  trap  sink  rather  than  float  to  a  certain  extent.

 Aeriel  view  of  the  trap!

Front  view  of  the  breeding  trap

Bingo  -  It's  ready  to  use

 Very  nice  design  ,  Umesh.
I  am  a  bit  worried  about  the  use  of  metal  mesh  though  -  would  prefer  plastic.

Good  DIY  Umesh.  Thumb Up  Like  Pradeep  has  mentioned  a  plastic  mesh  would  be  ideal.

 Regards
 Dinesh.

 Good  Efforts.

I  have  seen  lots  of  guys  using  the  plastic  'fruit'  baskets  available  with  road  side  vendors.

Advantage  is  these  baskets  are  fully  floating,  plastic  so  non-degradable  and  very  very  cheap.

When  the  fish  is  fully  bellied,  it  is  kept  in  this  for  max  one  day  or  so,  once  the  fries  are  released  the  parent  is  left  back  to  the  community  tank   Smile

Hi  Umesh,  so  is  this  trap  going  to  hold  the  fry  between  the  base  of  the  container  and  the  mesh  which  probably  would  be  approximately  a  cm  above  the  base?  I  may  be  asking  something  very  obvious,  but  I  havent  understood  the  utility  of  this  DIY.  Could  you  please  explain.

@  Abhishek  -  The  berried  female  is  left  in  this  trap  and  clamped  to  the  tank  in  which  you  would  like  to  collect  the  fries  and  then  re-release  the  female  back  to  the  community  tank  or  wherever  she  was  previously...
