One of my 4 large P.denisonii(4"+) have suddenly dissapeared without a trace...
Missing since Sunday...spotted until the evening of last saturday!...was very healthy and eating well!!
No carcass found either inside or outside the tank!...
Alien abduction?..Black hole in the tank? |

That's bad
It was part of the breeding project.
Check out the nearby tanks?? These guys are good jumpers. They should still be alive.

Sorry to hear about your loss
Even I loved the title of the post a lot. Something in the lines on "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" could have happened.
Maybe they biologically grew younger ... maybe you should look for denisonii eggs in your tank.
Jokes apart, it really is very strange indeed |

Hey Vyas, any strangers lurking nearby last weekend? Musta been snitched. I'm sure you would have a list of suspects by now. Spotted a trail of ants or something? Sure fire way to trace a fish that has jumped. In your case though, the tank is covered. What could it be? |

Could it have jumped out of the tank and slid to the bottom of furniture, or eaten away by rodents, other pets.
My betta committed suicide in a similar manner, I searched the whole room for the missing fish, only to find it under refrigerator in different room all covered with dirt and very difficult to identify whether it is a small fish or something else. |

@Gokul : To catch these buggers aint easy...BTW these are not in a closed tank...They have all possibilities to jump out...If they had jumped out...where is the fish?...and no anty trails!
@ Saurabh : No pets...No Rodents...Have moved all furniture in the hope of a small clue...sigh!
@ Vignesh...Make the move fast...have some juicy offers already....Have already interrogated the son.He remains tight lipped |

Vyas,
mmm.. I wish to investigate this case. Immediately send the 3 denisonis to my Chennai address for interrogation.
I wonder if your Canarensis were also a witness to this. Send them also.
Jokes apart, this guy might have jumped far off. Look all around your house.
Regards

I tend to agree with Prasoon, Vyas.
When I had a bunch of denisonii in a packet, one of them actually managed to jump out of an 18" tall bag and fall a good distance away. The bag was only 8" wide with about 6" of water. |

this case shall remain open...will blame it on some Paranormal occurance
@essabee: The Tank has two filters an Ehiem 2028 and a Ehien 2217..There is no way a 4" fish can get into the Ehiem filter intake... |
