Jamnagar is situated in India’s first Marine National Sanctuary covering an area of approx 450 sq km. in Gulf on Kutch.
There are many small islands where Corals and other Marine life is easily visible.
It is said to be one of the few places where at low tide you can walk far into the sea and observe Corals.
One of such Islands is “Narara Island” situated 50 km from Jamnagar.
I made a visit to this place along with some friends and it was a heavenly experience.
The best thing about this island is that during low tide you can drive down to the island and you don’t have to take the boat.
The first step in making this trip is getting permission from forest dept,.
We got this permission and came to know that they depute a forest guard to accompany you.
At first we did not like this unwanted intrusion, but it later on proved to be a good thing.
The trip can only be arranged during low tide conditions, also you have to get back before tide starts turning or else you might get struck.
Accordingly we instructed to report at 11:30 am on Sunday 19-4-2009.
We reached there right on time, myself and two friends.

We are given strict instruction by the guard
Do not try to collect anything as it is a restricted area.
Do not wander off.
As you will be walking amongst corals it was important that you do not step on anything.
As he was getting ready we took some snaps of surroundings.

one of my friend told me about this place ....
he is working at Research center of Corals and Algae some where around it so they go to this place for sample collection trip ...
