Hi all,
i am posting the pics of my tank as of today. a little change in hardscape that you will notice.
i started with a horrible piece of H cuba. because it was unavailable here.
just 5 days back i was enlightened by Tirtha about their availability with Vince. I have ordered 2 pots and waiting for it to arrive.
i have still not replaced the left most pointed rock(below the filter and i will replace it soon ASAP). also you will find one white sort of driftwood in the tank in the back. it is there to season and get the brown color on it and after that i will decide to fix it somewhere in the scape.
the Java fern needle leaf needs some trimming which will be done after a month.
CO2@4 bps, diffused through the powerhead.
Dosing: home made K from k2so4 and some 3-4 ml micro every week.
right now posting the old amount of Cuba which i had, the growth after 25 days and the final scape pics.

i will need to find some rocks now to remove that pointed rock and i am lazy for it but consider it to be done within a month. The left side is empty because it is waiting for the HC to arrive from Vince.
it will take another month for the left side to look comparable to the right side. So far i am happy with HC. not bad plant to grow and certainly not as tough as i thought it to be. i mean hairgrass grows more slowly as compared to HC.
Very good scape and the tank has a great potential!
I would suggest you use an acrylic partition between hair grass and hc i.e. if you dont want the hari grass to move into HC's zone.
BTW, give nicelittle hair cut to the hair grass and see how fast they grw.

Thanks Surya. i already have an acrylic partition in place . it is just covered by the soil for about 2-3 mm. actually it can be seen from the top. right now it is HC which is taking the offensive and encroaching in the HG area. . the HG got a haircut today morning. i am trimming them every 10 days.

update as on 18th Feb 2010.
H Cuba has grown well. following are the specs now
tank size : 30x 12 x 15
light : 3 wpg over H Cuba
CO2: 170 bubbles/minute
Dosing: home made k (15 ml a week) and Ferka Aquatilizer(1 ml everyday and 4 ml after water change), micro (aquatic remedies 4 ml every week in two slots of 2 ml on tuesday and friday).
temperature: 23-24 degree(using a CPU fan)
plants: h Cuba, flame moss, christmas moss, java fern narrow leaf, java fern (small leaf one), anubias nana gold, anubias barteiri, hair grass, bolbitis heteroclita(hidden)
fauna: 5 RCS.
filteration: 300 lph internal filter.
