 Hi  Guys,

Was  wondering  if  any  one  from  around  Bombay  would  be  interested  in  embarking  upon  a  driftwood  collection  trip  in  the  not  so  distant  future.  The  idea  has  been  floated  around  before  quite  a  bit  but  nothing  ever  materialised  probably  due  to  lack  of  initiative,  awareness,  co-ordination  or  a  combination  of  the  three.  I  have  already  had  a  brief  conversation  with  Weylin(Gatorx)  about  this  and  he  reckons  there  are  some  spots  on  route  to  pune  and  might  even  join  us  if  the  dates  are  feasible.

 So  anybody  interested  ?

My  exams  get  over  December  the  9th.  I  was  looking  at  the  weekend  immediately  after.  Had  thought  of  posting  here  sometime  in  November  last  week.  But  since  you  already  posted,I  wont  mind  a  trip  with  the  Mumbaikars.
So  YOU  GUYS  are  welcome  to  join  us,as  the  route  will  be  from  Mumbai-Pune-Collection  spot.  Chuckle
(donno  what  spot  Weylin  has  in  mind)

Sweet,  sounds  like  a  plan.  You  call  in  reinforcements  from  Pune  and  we  shall  make  an  attempt  to  make  it  a  Bombay-Pune  IAH  get  together  of  sorts   Thumb Up

On  a  side  note,  its  good  that  the  trip  is  pushed  to  December  as  I  too  have  the  not  so  small  matter  of  my  CFA  exams  to  tackle.  So  gives  us  ample  time  to  properly  plan  and  call  in  the  numbers  .

Pune  guys  are  generally  a  little  less  responsive  to  Meets  and  Collection  trips.
So  i  guess  it  will  be  pretty  much  the  usual  crowd  and  maybe  one  or  2  new  faces.  I  hope  good  drift  wood  is  an  incentive   Smile
The  place  im  looking  at  is  around  30km  from  Here.  I  doubt  how  many  fish  we  will  be  able  to  net  on  the  way  there.  Good  fish  collection  spots  are  a  little  off  from  this  place...

Fishes  would  just  be  an  added  bonus  i  reckon.  Driftwood  is  the  primary  target  here.  Anyways,  lets  see  how  it  pans  out  .Like  i  said,  we  will  try  and  spread  the  word  and  hopefully  people  will  turn  up.

I  am  in  from  Mumbai.  But  I  think  the  water  levels  would  be  comparitively  higher  at  this  time  of  the  year.  Summer  is  ideal  for  driftwood  collection,  but  too  far  away.

So  do  we  bike  our  way  to  pune?

Good  on  you.  So  we  will  count  you  in.

I  am  going  to  be  biking  my  way  there.  Where  in  Bombay  are  you  from?

Carrying  wood  back  will  be  a  royal  PITA.A  Car  if  available  will  definitely  be  a  much  better  option.

""Carrying  wood""  hhaha  sorry  couldn't  resist   Chuckle

Umm,  I  will  be  carrying  my  over-sized  backpack  which  i  reckon  should  suffice  and  besides  I  have  been  wanting  to  go  on  a  biking  trip  too.  Having  said  that  ,  if  someones  willing  and  able  to  take  out  their  car,  I  wouldn't  say  no.   Very Happy

Trust  me  dude.  Once  you  see  all  the  wood  that  we  have  seen  lying  around,an  extra  large  oversize  backpack  too  wont  suffice   Thumb Up

Hmm  like  I  said,  if  someone  can  get  their  car  out,  I  am  game  for  it.  If  that's  not  possible,  the  only  other  alternative  is  biking  as  public  transport  is  kind  of  a  big  no-no  for  me.

I'm  from  Vikhroli.  What  about  you?  Thane?  Where  in  Thane?

and  same  here  wrt  public  transport.  I  really  prefer  bikes  to  cars,  but  what  shubhankar  says  make  sense.
