 Shiva,

Yes,  the  spawn  is  looking  good  at  this  time.  Can’t  count  it  now  as  it  has  spread  out  all  over  the  tank  and  fries  are  trying  to  reach  at  parents  body.  Now  the  male  is  becoming  blackish  and  few  fries  are  attached  to  him.  They  both  had  fought  to  take  a  charge  and  now  they  have  calmed.  The  water  height  is  at  34  cm’s  and  tanks  actual  size  is  a  18  inch  cube.

Will  call  you  if  something  needed  urgently.

 Cheers,

 Kiran

 Thanks  Shiva,

The  current  state  is,  the  parents  are  behind  the  breeding  cone  with  sandwich  position  and  few  fries  are  swimming  between  them.  Now  they  have  stopped  to  pick-up  the  fries  which  are  spread  out  to  the  other  tank  location  and  I  can  see  very  few  mortality  there.

 Regards,

 Kiran

 Guys,

 Very  bad  news.

 All  fries  are  gone.   Sad

One  small  mistake  had  done  a  disaster  in  tank.

The  Mistake  :  After  laying  eggs,  on  2nd  day  I  have  done  the  partial  water  change  and  added  a  Methylene  blue.  The  Methylene  blue  was  there  in  the  water  with  dissolved  form  till  free  swimming.  Yesterday  afternoon  it  start  decaying  and  spread  over  the  bottom  and  side  of  tank  with  debris.   What  It  cause  I  don’t  know  but  one-by-one  all  the  fries  are  died  within  4  hours.

Yesterday,  I  was  in  the  office  and  calling  regularly  to  home  to  get  an  update.  Till  2:00  PM  all  was  well  and  few  fries  are  attached  to  the  parents.  When  I  reached  at  home  at  6:00  PM  I  had  seen  only  4  to  6  fries  are  swimming  in  the  tank  and  parents  ignoring  them  other  all  fries  are  died  at  bottom  of  the  tank.

After  consulting   with  Shiva,  had  done  the  complete  clean-up  with  100%  WC.

Shiva,  special  thanks  to  you  for  your  precious  help  and  suggestions.

Eager  to  see  their  next  spawn.

Will  update  this  tread  with  next  events,  stay  online!!!

 Regards,

 Kiran

Don't  be  disheartened  by  this  incidence.  You  will  have  more  spawning  rounds  &  have  chance  to  rectify  your  mistakes.

PS:  Guess  this  Blue  Liquid  will  be  history,  some  new  product  is  going  to  be  launched  soon  which  is  claiming  guaranteed  99-100%  hatching  with  fungus  protection.  Awaiting  further  details.

 Folks,

On  Shiva’s  suggestions  I  have   groomed  the  brooders  and  they  have  spawned  as  anticipated.

 Time  stamps  recorded:
 09-Apr-2010  23:30  –  Spawn  –  around  150  eggs.
 12-Apr-2010  11:30  –  Hatch  and  wigglers  –  around  125.  Rest  all  fungi’s.
 14-Apr-2010  23:30  –  Free  swimming  –  around  125.

Right  now  the  fries  are  on  parents  body  and  parents  are  taking  proper  care  of  them.
Yesterday  night  had  a  chat  with  Shiva  for  further  actions  and  he  has  given  me  the  clear  guidance  to  follow  the  steps  for  WC’s  and  feedings  (both  parents  and  fries).

Shiva,  can  I  remove  the  slate  cone  from  tank?  As  I  have  seen  some  fries  are  still  attracted  to  the  black  spot  of  the  cone  (inside).
How  to  prevent  the  fluke  issues  in  the  breeding  tank  as  I  can  see  some  symptoms.  Can  I  put  1  ppt  rock  salt  after  today’s  WC.  Kindly  suggest.

Yogi,  your  LSS  has  become  a  true  father  now  as  I  can  see  most  of  the  fries  are  attached  to  him.

Snaps  are  taken  but  haven’t  downloaded  to  laptop  as  yet.  Will  update  soon.

 Cheers,

 Kiran
