Not  much  success  in  terms  of  catching  number  this  time.
Bottle  traps  worked  well  to  catch  danios  &  Puntius  sp.
Bhushan  has  taken  few  pics,  shall  await  for  them.

Here  are  some  pics  to  tide  you  over  till  Bhushan  posts  his  shots.

I  was  just  recovering  from  flu  and  chose  not  to  enter  the  water.  A  decision  helped  along  by  the  muck  on  the  banks  and  in  the  water  Smile   My  long  handled  net  came  in  handy  though.

I  guess,  this  was  too  close  to  human  habitation  and  the  crematoria  debris  in  the  water  left  one  to  ponder  on  his  mortality  while  waiting  for  the  fish  to  enter  the  nets.

There  are  better  spots  along  this  river  that  we  will  no  doubt  explore  thoroughly  in  the  near  future.   Thumb Up

Harpreet  and  me  are  missing  from  these  pics  -  no  doubt  to  the  advantage  of  you  guys  ;-)

Was  a  pleasure  meeting  all  of  you  on  the  trip  and  no  doubt  we  will  do  these  trips  again  soon.

 Regards,
 Venkat

Hey  venkat,  nice  to  know  you  were  there  for  the  trip.  Smile

Ulhas  river  gets  a  bit  polluted  downstream.  We  should  go  further  up  to  Neral  or  even  further  up.  The  water  there  will  be  cleaner  and  shallower,  and  chances  of  netting  fish  will  be  higher  IMO.  And  is  that  a  rasbora  daniconius  (sp?)?  Ive  got  him  from  a  previous  collection  trip  and  he  is  extremely  aggressive  towards  small  fish,  in  the  sense  he  beats  the  filamentousis,  denisoniis  and  the  rainbows  to  my  small  sword  tail  fry  (2cm)  that  i  sometimes  let  into  my  community  tank  as  feeders.

Thank  you  Sameer  for  posting  the  pictures.

With  the  monsoon  around  the  corner,  I  presume  we  will  have  more  opportunities  and  better  scheduling  for  future  trips.

 Cheers,
 Sid
