And  at-last  you  are  damn  lucky  man  to  have  a  tank  of  this  size  in  your  bedroom.   Rock On

The  glass  is  15mm  thick     with  the  bottom  being  19mm
This  is  not  required  it  can  be  done  with  12mm  and  15  bottom  respectively
But  I  went  with  the  option  of  prevention  is  better  than  cure
I  was  planning  to  put  a  starfire  glass  as  the  front  panel     but  it  was  way  way  over  budget

As  for  me  having  one  bigger  than  this  would  be  a  tricky  question
This  is  my  current  biggest  out  of  the  5(and  biggest  marine)  but  not  my  biggest  ever
My  biggest  was  believe  it  or  not  one  of  the  ones  with  aluminium  braces  and  tar  one
A  mammoth  16ft  X  3ft  X  4ft  which  I  had  to  sell  for  scrap  because  of  a  leek  and  no  on  to  repair
Although  the  front  and  back  panel  were  two  pieces     it  was  pretty  cool
It  had  my  Piranhas  a  cool  Dozen  for  6  years  with  7  surviving  before  the  leek  and  death

If  you  consider  ponds  I  had  a  pretty  big  one  at  our  old  farm  house

and  yes  I  think  I  am  lucky  as  well  to  have  a  tank  this  size  in  my  bedroom
 Thanks

PostPosted: Fri Jan 06, 2012 7:02 pm Post subject: Cardinal's Brooding.... Reply with quote

Hi  I've  been  crazy  with  work
So  have  not  been  able  to  update  much  and
sadly  I've  not  been  able  to  take  care  of  my  Tank  as  well
as  i  usually  do     and  it  shows
I've  given  away  a  few  of  my  corals  (  and  a  few  have  sadly  demised  )

But  now  for  some  kinda  good  news

My  Pajama  Cardinals  are  breeding  like  crazy
1  Big  Female  is  carrying  some  young  ones
 I  need  advise  on  this
I  would  have  removed  it  to  my  Quarantine  easily   but  that
 Houses  my  Gluttonous  Ribbon  EEL
who  I  am  afraid  will  eat  HIM  (  it  would  be  him  but  in  cardinals  the  dad  keeps  them  in  the  mouth  t  brood)
So  now  I  can  Put  her  in  the  sum  where  I  can  easily  keep  her  Separate
but  my  concern  is  that  the  sum  is  on  a  revers  cycle  :-(
I  am  sure  that  might  effect  him
So  can  someone  Please  suggest  me  what  to  do
or  does  anyone  help  me  how  to  build  a  in  tank  nursery  ?????

all  the  help  will  be  really  really  appreciated
will  try  and  put  some  pictures  soon
 thanks

Made  a  intank  Nursery  f  or  the  Pyjama  cardinal  caught  him  with  loads  of  trouble  put  him  inside  the  Nursery  happy........  Think  again  it  regurgitated   the  eggs  because  of  stress   Crying or Very sad
Well  left  it  for  2  days  did  not  take  it  back     on  the  third  day  i  think  ate  the   eggs  or  they  are  gone   because  he  does  not  have  it  in  his  mouth  nor  are  they  on  the  floor  where  they  were   Sad

I  put  his  mate  with  him  for  now.
But  with  the  research  i've  done  on  it  I  am  pretty  sure  that  unlike  Bangai  I  will  not  have  success
 with  these.
I'm  thinking  of  giving  up  on  the  reef  notion      will  keep  my  current  inverts  like  my  Anemone  and  mushrooms  and  stuff   but  concentrate  more  on  the  fishes.

 Breeding  marines,  its  awesome!
But  please  dont  loose  hope.  Even  maintaining  parameters  good  enough  for  getting  them  into  breeding  conditions  is  commendable  Clapping
Why  have  you  left  out  reef?
 After  all  you  have  spend?

 My  tank  is  literally  dead
I  Have  a  bacteria  bloom  that  turn'd  the  water  into  milk...  at  1pm  when  the  lights  come  on
I  found  out  that  someone  at  a  party  that  i  threw
read  online  about  vodka  dosing  and  in  her  drunken  state
poured  500ml  of  vodka  into  my  tank  at  1am
and  now  50%  of  the  fishes  are  dead
80%  of  the  corals  are  gone
almost  all  the  inverts  are  in  bad  state
am  worried  that  my  14inch  cucumber   released   poison  when  it  died  (pleas  advise)
sifted  stuff  to  quarantine  tank   which  is  now  turning  milky
have  added  oxy  tabs  and  airpumps  along  with  a  filter
dont  know  how  to  save  them
 any  help  is  really  apriciated
P.S:  the  situation  is  so  bad  that  every  creature  like  worms  and  other  things  are  flooting  to  the  surface.

only  your  hope  is  water  change  bro  and  add  carbon  and  replace  every  48hrs

and  do  plenty  of  water  change  better  move  all  the  stuff  to  other  tank  and   remove  all  dead  stuff  atlast  dont  give  up  hope.
