Sorry  about  that.  Meant  to  say  20000K,  if  you  like  that  extreme  blue  look  which  I  personally  don't.  I  prefer  the  brilliance  of  14,000K  anyday.  And  they  do  supply  the  necessary  wavelength/color  temperature  that  most  of  the  inhabitants  need.

well  I've  been  really  busy  with  work  these  day's  so  well  as  expected  the  tank  work  suffer's

Their  have  been  some  minor  work  done  with  the  tank
 like
The  light's  have  been  pun  on  some  chain's  and  lowered  as  suggested  hear
I've  made  some  artificial  rock  which  are  under  the  cuaring  process  in  fresh  water
Purchased  some  more  wave  maker's  as  suggested  as  well

Will  get  back  on  the  tank  work  in  a  couple  of  day's.
I've  hit  a  brick  wall  thou
I  was  plaining  to  make  a  Fiber  canopy  and  stand  cover  but  the  maker  has  backed  out
now  i  am  in  the  dilema  of  weather  wait  for  him  or  make  it  from  other  material  like  ply  wood
 or  something.

Also  I've  thought  of  going  for  RedSea  coral  Pro  salt
 any  suggestions  on  that
 Thanks  for  all  your  suggestion's

On  a  personal  note  I  wisited  the  Aquatika  in  delhi
 and  it  was  quite  interesting
altho  the  main  attention  was  given  to  Planted  Tank's  and  quite  so  because  it  was  mostly  attended  by  the  planted  guy's
but  the  session's  from  Nauzer  was  quite  something  and  the  person  himself  was  very  healpfull.
The  salt  on  the  wound's  was  Nirav's  Presentation  on  Coral's  witch  really  make  you  feel  sad
seeing  what  all  is  out  their  and  not  for  hobbyist  in  india.

 Hi  Vipul,
I  guess  I  will  only  understand  your  set-up  properly  if  you  put  up  a  detailed  sketch  of  the  whole  set-up  with  plumbing,  electrical,  sump  design/plan,  fuge  (if  any)  -  I  mean  we  can  really  be  of  help  (all  of  us  here)  if  we  understand  the  set-up  properly.  This  detailed  sketch  will  also  be  extremely  useful  when  you  finally  set-up  the  tank  or  even  when  you  need  to  modify  the  set-up  in  future  to  plumb  in  or  incorporate  something  into  the  system.
Second  important  point  is  what  are  you  planning  to  re-create?  To  be  honest  with  you  every  tank  is  a  challenge  in  it's  own  right  but,  if  you  know  what  you  are  planning  to  re-create  it  becomes  a  lot  more  easy  to  replicate  it.....Remember  just  like  a  Freshwater  Biotope  you  could  re-create  a  marine  Biotope  (just  by  deciding  upon  the  kind  of  biotope  you  want  you  can  easily  zero  down  upon  what  goes  into  re-creating  such  a  Biotope)  Esp.  if  you  are  making  your  own  rocks  it  is  a  blessing!

PostPosted: Tue Aug 17, 2010 12:57 am Post subject: Can someone help me with ideas for the cover.... Reply with quote

I  know  that  it’s  been  going  nowhere  with  my  tank
I  was  getting  a  fibre  cover  and  stand  cover  as  well
But  as  I  have  said  I  am  now  without  a  fibre  maker
So  I  am  thinking  of  getting  a  carpenter  to  do  the
the  job  and  maybe  in  the  future  do  the  carbon  fibre  stuff

 Any  ideas
Specially  about  the  opening  mechanisms  of  the  hood
I  was  thinking  of  magnets  or  European  hinges  and  stuff
 also  on  the  material's
I  was  thinking  of  using  some  Aluminium  to  use  in  framework
Cause  it  is  non  corrosive  and  light
All  suggestion’s  r  more  than  welcome
 Thanks

PostPosted: Thu Aug 19, 2010 2:10 am Post subject: Hi got some new shipment today Reply with quote

 Hi  all
I  see  that  the  Marine  Community  hear  is  not  very  active

Watching  Reefcentral  really  makes  me  Envy  and
I  have  decided  that  I  would  try  and  make  my  tank  build  much  more  elaborate
So  since  I  received  a  new  shipment  today  I  will  share  it  hear
I  am  getting  a  carpenter  coming  Monday  (fingers  crossed)
And  I  hope  to  start  cycling  my  tank  early  to  mid  September.
Anyways  hear  is  my  shipment  today:
2  X  22Kgs  Red  Sea  Coral  Pro  Salt
 7  X  20Lbs  Coral  Reef  live  Sand  &  Aragonite  (20Lbs  I  think  is  like  9Kgs)
Well  Maybe  soon  I  will  post  all  the  new  shipment  I  got  this  month….soon  hopefully.
Well  I  hope  everyone  will  contribute  towards  my  effort.
As  always  thank  you  for  all  your  suggestion.
 Thanks

 Hi  Vipul,

 With  regard  to  your  lighting.....

Think  about  NOT  making  a  canopy  right  now.  What  about  getting  a  thick  piece/rack  of  marine  ply/aluminium  frame  or  what  not,  and  hanging  it  from  your  ceiling.  You  can  hang  your  halides  etc  from  it.  You  can  always  modify  it  later  as  you  see  fit.

Metal  halides  get  HOT,  and  with  a  closed  canopy  it  will  be  waste  of  power  for  cooling  it  (chiller  working  overtime).

I  prefer  open  top  tanks,  so  my  opinion  is  biased.

 Good  luck

Well  I  would  prefer  open  canopy  as  well  but  it  just  does  not  work  hear  man
specially  with  all  the  dust  and  the  light  escaping  spoiling  all  the  ambiance  of  the  room
as  for  the  temperature  aspect  I  am  gonna  put  2  exost's
one  blowing  air  into  the  canopy  and  one  taking  air  out  of  it
 helping  in  the  temperature  stuff

 Thanks  for  the  suggestion

Well  dust  is  always  gonna  be  there,  Mumbai  is  bad  in  that  sense.  Doesn't  make  that  much  of  a  difference.

If  you're  worried  about  light  spreading,  you  can  always  put  a  boundary  around  the  halide  to  direct  it  below.

I'm  guessing  the  humidity  in  Nagpur  isn't  too  high,  so  fans  would  probably  be  effective.  But  halides  do  get  really  hot.

 In  any  case,  good  luck!!
