 Hi  all

I  got  a  pair  or  yellow  mollies,  and  the  following  day  I  noticed  some  kind  of  swelling  or  deformity  in  its  mouth  (this  condition  did  not  exist  when  I  got  it,  nor  did  any  of  the  existing  inhabitants  ever  had  this).  I  separated  it  immediately  -  and  very  promptly  it  died  in  a  couple  of  hours.
Yesterday  I  found  the  same  condition  in  one  of  my  guppies,  and  that  too  followed  suite.  Now,  I  am  confused  as  to  what  would  this  problem  be.

The  tank  is  3x1.5x1.5  equipped  with  an  internal  filter,  air  stone,  thermostat  (running  at  28d)  all  working  24x7

Please  help  me  diagonise  this  condition,  and  also  suggest  me  some  medication  for  this.

 Regards

 Suby

does  it  look  like  physical  injury  or  cotton  mouth(mouth  fungus)?

It  did  not  look  like  any  fungus  growth  on  the  mouth  -  just  a  kind  of  swelling  is  what  is  appears  to  be.

 Hi  Suby:

If  it's  not  a  Planted  Tank  and  not  Fungus,

Then  do  a  20%  WC  and  add  50gms  of  Rock  Salt...within  a  day,  you'll  see  the  change...BTW,  what  are  the  other  inmates  and  the  temp.?
 Bye,

 Hi  Nag

It's  not  planted,  and  it's  not  fungus  -  confirmed.

Thanks  for  your  suggestion,  I  shall  try  that  out  when  I  get  home.

The  other  inmates  are  Loaches,  Scats,  Feathers  and  a  pair  of  Synodontis

 Regards

 Suby

 Hi  Suby:

I  don't  think  it  is  good  idea  to  mix  Feather  Fish  +  Scat  +  Mollies...

For  most  of  them;  a  specie  tank  is  recommended  for  the  first  and  the  second...And  mollies  are  live  bearers...  Confused  ...

Their  requirements  and  temperments  are  different...
 Just  my  thoughts...
 Bye,
