Seems like you people had some good fun, do post pics of fishes once they settle in the tanks.
What turtle is that? Is it a native? |

Ravindran,
Chinni took the turtle, he is more of a reptile lover but helped us out in catching the fishes, at last shankar found someone with whom he can share his interests on reptiles..
Balaji: I thoroughly enjoyed this trip, it was far more relaxed than our other trips, do bug the 'Barilius Tormentor' to share the exact location details where he caught Atukorali and then we can plan a trip exclusively for the same....
Missed out on the post fishing activities.... will join next time...
Cheers

Sounds like a great trip. I keep looking forward to Balajis writeup more than the pics nowadays.
Nice to see Sai releasensis back in action. |

I'm pretty disappointed of not being able to find even a single Puliothorax. Too bad Balaji.
BTW, Sai releasensis seem to have grown up into a juvenile. |

Same here. Absolutely funtaastic writeup. All of us at home had a laugh. The "Turtle Tormentor" was so LMBO stuff.
BTW, Beta, I thought it was Sai nicotinii. Can you please confirm the ID? |

He was re-described after he showed some unique characteristics which none of us have seen before. Sai nicotinii is now a junior synonym along with Sai mixensis. |

Thanks all. Hope to keep going back to collect more exciting fish and pass more rude comments on Prasoon's fitness levels.
We will keep going there until we collect the H.atukorali or one of us dies of a stroke. Whichever comes earlier.

Puntius saireleasensis was back in form during the trip. Started throwing back Tilapias with a vengence. Quite strange considering he had a Tilapia he took amazing care of.
Fed it live Tubifex and all. Was in a tank with Moss and some plants. The plants made the Tilapia rather confused. Twas like " WTF am I doing surrounded by plants??? Im not used to Moss man"

| Yes. I agree with Beta. A thirty yard throw and other similar violent characteristics are the key to identifying saireleasensis. |
