Ha ha....Trevor sir, well said...we'll post pictures of the collection trip and definitley pictures of Sus and Rups
Guys...anyone who have gone on collection trips before, could u tell us the best time of the day to reach the place for collection?...like 8:00am in the morning?...is is too early...will the fish still be sleeping 
Logistics:
I have a car and can accomodate 3 persons (Me, wifey and 1 more), considering you dont mind sitting with buckets and nets

guys its not the season, the new water will fill up the ponds and lakes to a new water level, fish tend to hide in vegetation, thats submerged,
uder atleast 3ft of water by now, it will be very difficult to catch as there will be lots of water for fish to escape,
and also be carefull , people dig out lake mud and pond mud to make bricks and for fertilzer, if u put your feet in water thats one foot
the next step will be 15 foot deep, guys with good swimming experience go for fishing others please stand near the banks,
for now i would suggest go for fishing using fishing rods it will be fun, pay the guys who rear fish near your local ponds and have fun |

Firstly, water level will be quite high now as Batman mentioned. That itself will make fishing difficult. And if it has rained quite a bit upstream, water will be quite murky. You wont be able to spot anything in the water.
That said, I am really not sure how things are in Cauvery. Have heard quite a bit that there is not much water in the reservoir. So it might not be too bad other than no visibility in water. More than anything, make sure you think of safety first. Better talk to locals and then venture in.
My suggestion is, stay put till october-november when water level starts receding. |
