 Hi..

My  Black  Moor  Gold  fish  is  showing  signs  of  sickness..
I  observed  that  she  was  sitting  on  the  gravel,  which  was  normal  when  no  one's  at  home..

During  feeding  she  dint   surface  for  food..

I  noticed  that  the  scales  behind  the  gills  have  become  white  and  may  be  a  (little  protruding..?  )  I  dont  know  what  is  the  reason..

Does  any  one  know  what  might  be  the  reason?  And  any  quick  remedy  ?

 Please  help

you  just  visit  a  website  about  goldfishes.  Contact  your  nearby  LFS  for  remedies.  I've  never  experienced  this  type  of  goldfish  disease,  despite  of  5  yrs  experience.

 I  think  she  has  constipation..
She's  in  the  bottom  through  out...  and  not  surfaced  for  air   Sad
Generally  all  my  goldies  get  to  the  surface  once  in  a  while..

She  seems  to  be  very  light  sensitive  suddenly.  and  doesnt  like  the  lights  on..  Iv  kept  them  off  for  her  good...

I  have  raised  the  temperature  of  the  water  to  28  degrees  C..

Will  get  back  home  from  work  and  move  her  into  fresh  water  and  add  some  crystal  salt  and  see  how  she  progresses..

Keeping  my  fingers  crossed..  Hope  she  recovers..  Crying or Very sad

 Hi,
If  she  has  constipation  then  try  these  remedies-
Give  some  high  fiber  food  like  boiled  peas  after  removing  shell  or  blanched  spinach(palak)  or  blanched  cucumber.
Try  feeding  in  small  quantities  and  hope  for  her  recovery.....
Keep  us  posted  about  the  details..  Thumb Up

She  was  hiding  in  the  same  corner  from  morning...

I  just  moved  her  to  a  bucket..  And  added  a  table  spoon  of  Crystal  salt..

I  observed  her  body  from  TOP..
Her  stomach  seems  to  have  swollen  and  the  scales  are  protruding  like  spikes  Surprised

 Im  really  worried.!

@  Tejammy:  yes..  will  give  her  blanched  spinach  now..  I  dono  if  she  will  eat..!  I  will  try  and  hand  feed  her..

Hey  if  the  scales  are  protruding  like  pine-cones  then  it  may  be  dropsy..

 Compare  with  the  following  pics

Wait  for  senior  to  give  some  treatment  for  dropsy...
 I  don't  know  any  fail-safe  treatment..

 Regards,
 Tejas

By  the  way  the  scales  are  protruding..  it  does  look  like  dropsy..

 http://picasaweb.google.com/justin.xk/Aquarium#5525359896712344130

I  fed  her  some  blanched  spinach..
Moved  her  to  a  bucket..  added  blue  medicine  and  'ocean  free'  medicine..  just  in  case..

I  think  she  ate..  because  she  was  pooping  (transparent)
Which  I  feel  is  a  good  sign...

 Will  update  the  situation  tomorrow..
Just  hoping  its  not  dropsy  thought  the  pic  suggests  very  much  that,!

Doesnt  look  good..  No  improvement...  shez  still  plonked  in  the  bottom  of  the  bucket..  Doesnt  surface  at  all..  Moves  only  when  I  use  the  torch  light  to  check  on  her..  Added  an  air  stone..  Think  I  need  to  put  her  to  sleep..
