 Hi  guys,

This  is  my  first  post  about  my  hobby.  I  was  an  ardent  hobbyist  in  my  college  days  (10  years  ago)  but  later  due  to  various  reasons  my  hobby  took  the  back  seat.  I  took  to  Ichthyology  and  used  my  tanks  to  just  keep  fish  for  study  purpose.  The  past  three  or  four  months  watching  you  guys  on  IAH  made  the  urge  strong  enough  to  set  up  a  tank  worthy  of  a  hobby  Very Happy

Now  I  have  two  tanks  one  2.5ftX1.5ftX1ft  in  community  set  up  and  one  Channa  aurantimaculata  tank  (planning  a  bigger  tank  for  him).  Hope  to  find  space  for  more  tanks  Chuckle

Following  are  some  pics  of  my  tank  and  the  fishes  I  have  (some  donated  by  IAH  chennai  guys)

 Comments  and  suggestions  welcome.  :)

 Puntius  filamentosus

 Puntius  tambraparniei

 My  tank

A  few  fish  were  given  by  friends

 Channa  aurantimaculata  given  by  Andrew

 Rasbora  rasbora  from  Prasoon

 Barilius  bakeri  from  Balaji

 Prem,  Beta,  Hrishi...Thanks  guys

Beta,  I  hope  to  go  to  Keeriparai  during  summer.  Now  water  too  high.  My  last  attempt  to  catch  P.  rohani  was  a  flop  as  forest  guards  refused  to  let  me  in  Sad

Thanks  ice  cube.  Right  now  I  am  studying  the  Chembarampakkam  lake  which  is  the  outskirts  of  Chennai.  The  fish  diversity  of  the  lake  is  a  part  of  my  Ph.D  problem  along  with  revalidating  a  few  other  species  which  belong  to  the  P.  filamentosus  group  of  fishes.

Sorry  Balaji..........I  dunked  them  in  CH2O  Sad

I  still  have  the  Neuotropius  atherinoides  which  I  promised  you.  I  have  kept  them  in  a  separate  container  and  will  hand  them  over  the  next  time  we  meet.   Very Happy
