In  my  case,  None  of  them  touch  it  if  they  have  other  food  available

When  no  extra  food  is  added  to  the  tank  for  a  wwek,  The  Rosy  barbs,  the  green  stripes  and  the  Odessa  barbs  eat  it.  I  am  trying  the  starving  technique  new.
My  tank  nitrate  level  is  between  10-20ppm  after  50%water  changes.  I  think  its  contributing  to  the  BBA.  I  am  also  planning  to  reduce  stock  in  the  tank  to  reduce  the  bioload

 Hello  Unni,

in  fact  black  molly  will  also  eat  BBA  apart  from  the  barbs  provided  they  dont  get  any  other  food....Siamese  algae  eaters  are  also  known  to  eat  it  but  do  not  have  any  personal  experience  with  it.

hope  your  co2  level  is  not  fluctuating  causing  BBA.

 cheers,
 Binesh

 Unni,
i  never  checked  my  nitrate  level.  but  my  anubias  and  the  back  glass  (even  the  front  glass  was  getting  some)  was  full  of  it.  after  couple  of  hours  of  backbreaking  labour  and  merciless  snipping  and  bleaching,  i  think  i  might  have  it  under  control..  but  who  knows!!!  Mollies  or  barbs  have  never  worked  or  me.  thinking  of  getting  a  really  big  bottle  of  flourish  excel  and  dosing  it.
can't  afford  to  starve  my  fish  as  i  have  juvenile  discus  which  need  food.

 Batman,
i  though  SAE's  didn't  touch  that  stuff  if  other  food  was  available

I  too  agree  if  you  do  not  feed  fish  will  eat  alge  and  even  fugai.  I  have  kept  unseasoned  dwarf  wood  (NEW  TANK)  which  started  covering  with  fugai  once  i  have  cleaned  manually  then  i  have  introduced  few  guppies  gifted  by  Mr.  Rahul  few  days  I  fed  very  little  and  noticed  they  are  happy  feeding  on  the  fugai  and  now  i  do  not  have  any  fangi  left  on  wood.

In  my  experience,  MOst  of  the  BBA  eating  fish,  including  SAE  and  Black  mollie,  move  away  from  BBA  if  they  can  find  any  other  food...........
For  me  lower  feeding  (  to  make  them  hungry  enough  to  go  for  BBA  )  and  dosing  control  has  helped  to  bring  down  BBA  considerably.

 Regards
 Prabhu

 Hi  Unni,

My  BBA  is  slowly  dying  down  because  of  24  hours  5  BPS  CO2.  Fishes  are  accustomed  to  the  CO2.

Anand,  I  guess  this  is  what  dosing  with  Flourish  Excel  also  tries  to  do...........dose  with  organic  carbon,  so  that  CO2  is   there  24hrs  in  water............
