Can any body tell me where can i get INDIAN STAR TORTOISE?Name of any pet shop,or contact number also the approx price of a small size one. And features to keep in mind while purchasing one.Any suggestions should be greatly appreciated.Please mail me nilangandutta109 [at] gmail [dot] com.

Almost all Indian species of Tortoise and Turtles are declared "endangered" and sale, purchase and ownership of these is illegal.
The Red Eye Slider variety of turtle is (AFAIK) the only species legal to own.
Let's see what the experts have to say.

It is illegal to capture and keep Geochelone elegans in captivity. Do NOT attempt to buy a hatchling from the illegal trade.
It's the demand from individuals like you that's causing this beautiful animal to be wiped out from the wild.
As Sid, suggests get yourself an captive bred RES. |
