Well...........
So it started as any other collection trip. Sharp at 5.15am half way to Trevor's house I got the call from the great man,
" Bugger, are you awake yet!"
Collecting Trevor at 5.30am we met Preetham and Siddarth and were waiting for Beta and Rahul to join us at the Bangalore Diary junction.
Time:6.25am.
Just before Dobs'pet pronounced Dabbaspet in Kannada we came across kamath Upachar, a new hotel where we decided to have breakfast. Beta and Rahul wanted to freshen up. Else we had thought of having our breakfast on the Thatte idly's of Kyathasandra!
Waitingfor the breakfast!
Even the waiters knew who was the Alpha male. Idly's and vada's can wait! But the big man gets his Masala Dosa first!
Time:8.50am

Trevor can you please elaborate on the tape worm discussion?,

The tape worm discussion cannot be posted in a public forum lest it scandalizes the tender hearted upright members.

True Arvind
To continue......
After Chitradurga we made a pit stop near a Tea stall. Cruising along the Bangalore-Pune NH-4 Trevor was musing that we should have called the Pune guys. Especially Alpha91(Shubhankar). Reaching Dharwad at 2.00pm we made a decision to go to Dhandeli. "Discovering" the road to Dhandeli was another adventure. By now our stomach was growling with hunger. Coming across a small shack Trevor decided to have Lunch there. Asking us not to get out of the car, he ventured out to make what he called a Food recce Every thing being to his satisfaction, he gave his typical call in his booming voice " Come re.....come fast".
Munching on the Chocolate brought by Beta.

20 Kms before Dhandeli we came across a water body which we decided to explore.
Walking along the stream bed.
Catching fishes.
One of the fish.
There was a beautiful Arch under the bridge with iridescent rocks. Just then my camera battery died out. So walked all the way back to the car with the fish packs to get a new battery.
Waking up Trevor who was snoozing, gave the fishes to him for packing and headed back down with his concoction which he had brewed earlier.
The Arch...
By then it was getting dark. Just glanced up to see Trevor standing on the bridge looking at us.
This is the last picture I have of him. It was 6.30pm on 10th Dec 2010.
Watching over us!
Go in peace friend, go in peace. I will follow you to the happy fishing grounds when my time comes.
Till then I and the fishchasers will be upholding your legacy. I know I will never have another Navigator like you. But when I am feeling lonely or frightened or needing help I will always glance up, knowing you are there watching over me.
Regards,
Nayak. |

Fishchasing will never be the same again without him. But fishchasers will always be there.
Thinking of what Nayak said, he always watched over us and took care (he always will). Subtle things like his lemonade which would help us once we got back to the car tired. Small things which made lot of difference.
Just cannot forget the time we had travelling 1000+ kms in trips. All because of him....
Thank you Trevor for everything you did for us........ |

My bad that I had to pull off this trip at the last minute.
Over half a decade and I don't remember a single trip that he said he can't make it. Starting from controlling us like a father whenever we were about to take risks, to handling problems on and off the road, to refreshing us at the end of the day with his humor bombs and sharbaths, trips will never be the same again.
I don't think we're gonna miss him for he will be with us as always on every trip. |
