i  am  planning  for  an  iwagumi  in  my  10  gallon  tank.  currently  i  have  it  with  driftwood  etc(LINK  to  the  current  tank  :   MY  CURRENT  TANK)

It  has  become  kind  of  boring  now.  so  planned  to  make  it  an  iwagumi.  can't  keep  more  than  1  tank  and  neither  can  i  get  a  bigger  tank  so  i  am  stuck  with  10  gallon  tank.  options  are  pretty  limited  for  me.

right  now  i  am  trying  with  various  setups.  the  one  which  i  like  is  this.  the  tank  size  is  20  x  10  x  12  inches.  i  would  need  to  move  things  a  little  in  this  new  setup  but  i  will  keep  on  experimenting  and  will  update  once  i  start  the  tank.

as  my  tank  is  small,  i  will  stick  with  the  same  old  plants.  hemianthus  cuba,  hairgrass,  hav  eno  idea  about  what  else  shall  i  keep  in  this  tank  and  in  which  position.  hairgrass  for  sure  will  be  behind  the  rocks.  and  HC  in  front  but  what  other  plants  and  where???  suggest  some  plants  for  small  aquariums  and  their  desired  positions  (i  know  pogostemon  H.  and  staurogyne  etc)  anything  else????

thanks   for  the  comment  Rajiv  and  Madan  sir.

i  will  try  to  take  that  large  rock  to  the  left  leaning  left.  i  still  remember  that  this  is  what  you  did  while  setting  up  the  tank  at  Prabhu's  store.....i  still  have  to  follow  that  rule  which  you  told  us  that  day.  drawing  diagonals  across  the  tank\s  edges  and  then  putting  perpendicular  lines  to  get  the  position  of  small  and  big  rocks,  with  the  bigger  one  always  to  the  left.  i  guess  now  i  am  recalling  it  correctly  Smile

 Mr  Javed,

i  am  not  very  good  in  this  but  looking  at  it  gives  a  feel  of  3  different  type  of  rocks,  2  on  the  left  looks  same,  3  smaller  ones  in  the  center  are  of  same  type,  and  the  the  biggest  one  on  the  right  of  one  type......this  one  looks  the  best  and  center  smaller  once  are  looking  the  worst.

also  go  with  odd  number  of  rocks,  even  would  give  a  more  symmetrical  feel....this  is  suggested  for  iwagumi  setups.  i  think  for  this  tank  you  can  go  with  either  3  or  5  rocks....max.  you  can  also  try  to  keep  the  bigger  one  in  the  center  and  rest  around  it  ??

 Cheers,
 Binesh

Love  your  rocks  mate  Thumb Up

The  arrangement  seems  a  bit  to  busy  with  hardly  any  strong  focal  point,  try  a  few  different  settings,  you  should  get  it  right.

 Goodluck!

The  big  rocks  are  looking  awesome,  but  as  mentioned  by  Binesh  all  are  of  different  types  and  the  3  that  are  placed  in  the  center  wont  look  good  at  all  in  the  setup...  you  can  use  the  big  3,  would  look  awesome...  Smile

Best  of  luck  and  do  keep  us  posted....   Thumb Up
