I  have  got  some  riccia.  Tied  on  stones.  Previously  I  went  with  54W  in  a  27g  tank.  Now  with  60  W  in  a  15  g  tank.  photo  period  is  of  8  hrs.  But  after  10  days  have  passed,  only  small  buds  seen  though  only  on  some  stones.  others  are  turning  grey.  I  have  a  DIY  CO2  reactor.  Though  supply  is  less.  as  it  is  not  a  pressurized  one.  No  dosing.  What  may  be  the  cause.help  me  please.Thanks.

Leave  them  floating,  closer  to  the  light.  They  will  pick  up  pretty  quickly.

Have  you  tied  it  with  thread  or  with  a  net?  Best  way,  if  you  have  already  not  done  it,  is  to  spread  the  Riccia  evenly  on  the  stone  and  wrap  it  with  net.  Initially  it  does  turn  grey  but  don't  worry  soon  you  will  have  lush  green  growth.

Previously  I  had  a  temperature  of  26  C.  Now  it  is  below  25  I  think.  I  have  spreaded  on  stone,  covered  with  net  and  tied  with  thread.  I  have  some  of  them  floating  also  in  a  container.  But  as  I  have  heard  about  their  fast  growth,  that  is  not  coming.  Today  morning  I  have  seen  some  buds.  Not  very  much,  but  let  see.  And  how  long  will  it  take  to  cover  the  whole  stone?
 Thanks

It  took  about  a  week   and  a  half  for  the  whole  stone  to  be  covered  with  it  just  above  the  net.  I  am  no  expert  and  this  has  also  been  my  experiment  May  be  the  experts  will  be  able  to  advice  you  better.

IME  i  have  seen  that  plants  grow  very  slow  in  cfl  compared  to  normal  flouroscent  bulbs,  they  grow  better  in  pll.

Off  topic,  if  you  are  setting  up  a  planted  tank,  please  change  your  lights.  Difficult  to  make  cfls  work  well,  they  run  hotter  and  produce  less  light  -  (60lm  per  watt).
You  can  get  36w  pll  or  a  55w  pll  -  it  will  give  you  about  80lm  per  watt.  Also,  get  the  cool  daylight  ones.

Please  look  up  the  Lighting  for  Planted  Aquaria  forum.

Thank  you  for  the  suggestion.  But  cfl  getting  hot  is  not  a  problem  as  the  room  in  which  the  tank  is  present  is  having  A.C.  Other  than  that  I  dont  know  what  may  be  the  problem.  I  have  4WPG  now.  Is  it  not  enough?  But  today  I  can  see  more  green  buds  today.  Now  the  thing  is  to  make  them  lush  green.  So  please  suggest.  like  fert  or  something.
 Thanks
