I  accidentally  saw  nice  shaped  cocount  outer  layer  in  my  house  thought  of  using  it  as  plant  pots  in  my  8G  aquarium....any  body  tried  it...  does  it  need  same  treatment  like  drift  wood  (like  should  have  to  boil  in  water  before  putting  in  to  tank)  or  its  bad  for  tank

I  boil  it  for  a  few  minutes.  Releases  a  lot  of  tannins.
Have  been  using  it  as  caves  with  no  issues.
