Needed a break from my hectic work schedule.Decided to visit this place called damdim, around 12 hours from Kolkata.Didnt know there was stream just next to my bunglow, so went there unprepared with no nets, just 2 pakets.Reached the place around 1pm.I was thrilled once i saw the stream. After a heavy lunch, i ventured out to check out the stream.
Day 1 -
First shot of the stream
Another
I was amazed to see the rotalas
The green ones
The stream was teeming with barbs and loaches (need the specific id's from you)
Here is the loach
After a lot of failed attempts to catch them, i roped in 2 villagers to help me out.But they proved to be rather amateur.
They did however agree to catch some for me next morning...
I'll post day 2 pics soon guys |

Awesome catch for a single person! IAH chazers should get such a net and training.
Looks like you got some Esomus.sp, Colisa liala, Pseudosphromenus cupanus, and also one looks like my favourite Puntius phutunio
I am sure cat-man will be happy seeing that Mystus.sp(?)
Nice trip!! |

Hrishi,
Great pics and super work !! And I really appreciate you giving away the rotala for free -thats the true spirit of a hobbyist !! BTW - Rotala Macrandra is a very poor shipper - it will die if it dries even a bit. So one needs to be careful. Can u send some to Delhi ? |
