 If  the  name  ain't  so  obvious,  this  leads  to  a  lot  of  confusion.                

 
 The  first  time  I  was  introduced  to  the  Tilipia  buttikofferii  at  an  LFS  he  was  calling  it  Butter  Coffee   Jester

 BTT.....  yes  they  can  live  in  a  pair  but  in  a  species  tank  as  they  are  one  of  the  most  agressive  fish  
 Dont  miss  this  opportunity  if  you  really  like  em  ....they  are  rare  !

 About  15  years  back  when  I  was  in  primary  school  and  used  to  sneak  out  with  an  older  friend  of  mine  during  summer  vacation  afternoons  for  fishing  tilapia,  catfish  and  severums  from  nearby  wells,  using  earthworm  as  bait,  I  was  introduced  to  the  Severum  as  "Shivram",  which  I  thought  (  implied  by  the  name  )  was  a  native  fish  growing  in  wells  and  lakes.   Wall Bang

 i  would  still  suggest  you  get  a  pic  for  a  positive  ID.  i  have  heard  that  P.  Crabo   look  pretty  similar  to  the  butti  at  some  stage.

 Where  in  India  did  you  find  severums  in  wells?!!?  They  are  not  found  in  India  but  in  New  world!  Did  you  live  in  Brazil  or  somewhere?

 Uhh.....you  sure  they  were  Severums'?  This  is  the  first  time  am  hearing  of  them  being  native  to  india  and  being  in  a  well......UNLESS  you  are  referring  to   our  Fish  Logo.......
