Read about the massive flooding in Thailand. It made me wonder about the scale of damage that might be caused due to captive bred fish species that might have escaped.
Even if you consider an average fish farm that has been submerged, there is a high probability of atleast 20-30% of the fish escaping, and subsequently surviving in the local aquatic ecosystem.
How disastrous do you think will it be in the long run? I have a really nasty feeling about this!

impact of captive fish in water in future !!!!, well i dont think there would be much because the river which caused the flood is murky and fast flowing river ,the species adopted to this life would never have an impact because captive fish cannot live in these conditions
but i fear the people who invade the river for resources , if they build dams then there would be calmity for migrating fish , which are many in this river, there is a plan to build 5 or more dams across this river,
This is a early signs of Global warming and very soon the countries near the coastal region will be under water.
Some of the sinking island's national seek new homes to UN already.
I guess the flood was due to other reasons. But some countries like Tuvalu , Vanuatu and several other countries of Micronesia are under serious threat and have approached UN.
And I would like to add to what Vidhyasagar said, conditions in floods are not favorable to captive bred fish. Even native fishes dont survive floods because they get stranded inland when the floods recede.
