| I have always had a strange problem with mechanical timer switches even of different brands. I always seem to lose time on them over a few days. Eg Lights set to come on at 12pm after few days come on at 1215 then 1230 and so on. Any particular reason why this might happen ? |

| All timers ( mainly mechanical times ) have a drift/error margin specified. For eg. My TheBen timer have explicitly mentioned that there might be a delay/gain of 1 sec for each 24 hrs. So in a couple of months you may have a min or so off the mark. You just have to realign the clock after a few months. Mainly due to mechanical error margins and wear-n-tear |

Hi Shelly,
The genuine Fontier timers are solid and heavy compared to fake ones.
They are made in Taiwan.
After reading so many posts in this forum, I was reluctant to buy Frontier timers and thought of buying Gelco or L&T brand timers.
The shopkeeper had clearly explained me the difference between fake and the genuine one and told me to ask for the same timer in a different shop.
I can easily able to distinguish the fake one after seeing the genuine Frontier timers.
Ensure that you are buying a genuine one.
They are really good and cheaper than Indian timers.
Regards,
Senthil

Same problem here, just 2 monnth old timer and resets at its whims and fancy. replaced the battery and no change in behaviour.
Even the so called fake ones would probably "have made in taiwan". In the absence of a genuine one, i dont know how to look at the weight and figure out if it is fake or genuine. Does anyone here in Bangalore know if there is any authorised dealer or any shop where you have had the experience of buying a genuine one? |
