Any  suggestions  on  what  fishes  to  keep  in  my  nano  tank.  Planning  to  restart  this  project  over  the  weekend.  Tank  dimensions:  12W  x  8D  x  18H  inches  holding  about  27  litres.

Over  the  years,  I  have  kept  goldfish,  angels,  kois,  gouramis,  neon  tetras,  guppies,  redcaps,  baby  sharks  and  mollies.  Want  to  try  something  different  this  time.

If  anyone  wants  to  giveaway,  please  let  me  know.

How  about  some  plants,  a  few  schooling  fish  and  some  shrimp  ?

Finally  got  my  act  together  today.  Cleaned  the  tank  with  lots  of  water.  Added  water  and  started  the  air  pump.  Will  let  it  run  till  next  weekend  and  add  some  fish.

If  youre  doing  a  planted  tank  then  set  up  the  scape  with  plants  now.   Add  some  old  media  in  the  tanks  from  another  tank  to  get  the  bacteria  in.  Then  after  2-3  weeks  add  fish

Nope,  this  is  not  a  planted  tank.  It  is  actually  a  small  tank  of  15  x  8  x  24  inches.  Still  wondering  what  fishes  to  introduce  since  the  temp.  is  soaring.

You  can  probably  start  with  Zebra  danios,  they  are  hardy  and  inexpensive.  Good  to  get  your  tank  cycled  with  them  before  u  add  more.

Yes,  that's  the  plan!  How  many  can  i  introduce  in  this  tank  which  holds  about  10  gallons?
Planning  on  starting  with  just  a  pair  initially.

Been  reading  a  bit,  and  just  realized  that  Zebra  Danios  might  not  be  the  right  fish  for  my  tank.  My  tank  is  tall,  and  the  only  fish  which  suits  tall  tanks  is  Angelfish.  I  have  kept  both  black  and  white  Angels  earlier  with  mixed  success.  Some  survived  6  months,  some  died  in  days.

Any  other  suggestions?  Planning  to  visit  the  LFS  over  the  weekend.

A  12inch  tank  can  only  serve  as  a  hospital  tank  for  angels.
Please  get  a  bigger  tank  or  settle  for  a  single  betta  for  your  nano.
Moreover  do  make  up  your  mind  about  the  correct  dimensions  of  your  tank.

Scarlet  badis,  Pearl  Danio  or  Ember  tetra.  Neons,  cardinals  &  rummy  nose  are  also  very  nice  but  you  need  a  larger  tank  to  admire  their  true  beauty.  And  of  course  you  can  add  a  lot  of  shrimps

 Thanks,

 Ryel

Getting  a  bigger  tank  is  out  of  question  at  the  moment.  Regarding  Betta,  I  have  never  kept  one  before.  The  LFS  in  my  area  does  not  stock  them.  I  had  seen  a  blue  one  with  him  once,  and  he  quoted  400  for  it.

For  a  starter,  which  one  would  be  best  (and  preferably  cheapest)?  I  dont  want  to  goof  up  this  time.
