Thanks  mate!!  I  am  thinking  to  go  for  a  bigger  one  ...  what  fish  can  i  add  along  with  this  Chiclids  -  Parrots.  I  have  read  in  different  articles  that  males  are  sterile.  The  female  is  ready  to  lay  eggs.  What  Chiclid  can  be  introduced  to  get  them  hatched.

One  of  my  two  parrots  is  not  eating  at  all  for  last  3  days.  He  nibbles  and  leaves  the  food.  His  fins  got  slightly  worn  out.  The  other  female  one  is  pushing  him  and  he  hides  in  one  corner  upside  down.  The  other  parrot  sometimes  tears  his  fins.  I  am  sad  and  scared  .  Can  any  one  help  me  please.  Please  let  me  know  if  anything  is  wrong.  A  few  days  ago  the  female  had  laid  many  eggs  but  they  all  became  white  and  eaten  by  them.  I  am  not  sure  who  ate  it.

That's  one  beginner's  tank,  looks  artificial  from  top  to  bottom.  And  the  rainbow  does  not  have  much  of  life  left  with  those  manmade  fishes.  Do  you  know  about  the  natural  habitat  or  biotope  of  parrots.  Search  in  net.  It  is  interesting.     Very Happy

Kindly  remove  the  rainbow  if  possible  and  start  some  reading  on  the  fishes  you  are  keeping.  Also  please  read  about  "crossbreeding  and  its  effect  on  nature".

 Good  luck  with  the  hobby.

Dude  try  to  add  some  substrate.  I  recently  saw  a  big  tank  with  parrot  with  german  clay  and  he  had  put  some  rocks  in  it.
the  Parrots  were  moving  the  substrate  under  the  rock  and  made  a  hide  out  underneath  the  rock.
It  looked  soooo  good  as  if  you  are  seeing  them  in  nature.  You  will  really  enjoy  that  man

I  had  some  substrate  in  the  begining,  you  are  right  they  move  it  around.
But  later  on  it  became  too  hard  to  maintain  the  quality  of  water.

So  what  I  did  is  put  substrate  in  pots,  for  them  to  play  with.
As  for  hiding,  they  choose  the  vertical  pots.

You  should  see  them  when  they  hide,  with  watching  with  one  eye  in  the  pots.

 Its  amazing.
