After  my  Juvie  betta  munched  on  all  my  rcs  in  my  planted  tank,  I  decided  to  convert  my  smallest  1  footer  tank  into  a  shrimp  only  tank.  So  I  have  this  tank  running  for  past  2  weeks  with  3  pairs  of  rcs.  Today  I  added  3  pairs  of  yamato  to  this  tank.  I  did  not  observe  any  aggression  by  yamato  towards  the  rcs.  For  that  matter,  when  I  dropped  some  veggie  flakes,  they  seem  to  be  sharing  the  food.  But  in  the  evening  to  my  horror,  I  saw  one  of  the  yamato  was  happily  munching  on  one  of  the  rcs.

I  thought  they  were  compatible,  but  now  I  am  thinking  otherwise?  Should  I  separate  them?  I  am  not  sure  if  the  yamato  killed  the  rcs  or  it  was  already  dead  and  the  yamato  just  found  its  dead  body  as  one  of  my  rcs  was  missing  for  past  2  days  and  that  is  even  before  I  added  the  yamato.

 Kindly  advice!!

Afaik!   Both  specie  are  friendly  with  each  other.  That  poor  guy  must  have  died  due  to  some  other  reasons.

i  have  yamato  and  RCS  and  CRS  in  same  tank,  they  are  very  much  compatible  with  each  other.
Definitely  the  RCS  had  died  and  it  was  munching  on  the  dead  one.Dont  worry  the  yamato  will  not  kill  any  of  your  RCS  .

Its  100  %  Yamato....No  more  casualties  ever  since....Both  rcs  and  yamato  seem  to  gelling  well....

Good  news!!!  I  can  see  plenty  of  small  transparent  white  creatures  on  the  glass  tank  and  I  assume  they  are  rcs  shrimplets   Cheering
