After  a  long  and  tidious  search  and  research  of  marine  tank  setup  like  plain  reef,  fish  only  or  both  together,  I  think  i  have  gained  a  basic  knowledge  of  what  marine  aquarium  is  really  about  and  in  near  future  I'm  going  up  for  the  cause  of  saving  some  precious  corals  it's  imore  about  the  corals  to  me.  And  regarding  the  setup  i  know  it  would  take  a  hell  lot  of  time  and  money  to  prepare  the  perfect  setup  which  won't  be  easy  with  delicate  species  like  corals.  We  need  some  basic  equipments  in  this  long  run  a  small  or  large  aquarium  tank  with  stand,  a  T5  or  halide  lighting,  a  protien  skimmer,  a  wavemaker,  a  sump  filter  with  heating  system,  a  huge  container  of  Reef  salt,  a  testing  kit  very  important  for  marine  setup,  a  hydrometer  to  check  water  salinity,  and  probably  a  good  aeration  system  and  powerhead.  When  you  have  these  you  are  just  started  taking  the  first  step.  Setting  it  up  takes  up  the  real  part.  And  when  it  is  done,  it  can  make  any  aquarium  hobbyist  go  gaga..  Clapping  .  There  are  many  more  equipments  but  thats  still  part  of  more  research.  But  i  know  for  sure  i'm  in  near  future  going  to  setup  the  most  beautiful  marine  setup.  Cheering

 Hi!
Good  to  see  that  you  have  researched  up  most  of  it,  next  step  ahead  would  be  to  decide  on  your  tank  dimension.  Since  you  plan  to  save  corals,  I  am  hoping  you  would  settle  for  a  large  tank.  In  your  wish  list  do  put  in  a  refractometer  and  consider  LED  lighting  as  well.  Wishing  you  the  very  best   Thumbs Up   and  continue  researching,  that  is  the  only  way  you  can  learn  on  the  expensive  side  of  Marine  aquariums.

 Regards
 govindsj      Very Happy

hello  Gurus,  i  am  planning  my  first  marine  tank  and  after  lots  of  reading  and  interacting  with  different  people  i  have  came  to  decision  that  my  tank  will  be  fish  only  tank,

soo  here  my  question  is,  i  want  this  tank  to  be  more  on  low  maintenance  so  planning  for  artificial  rock,  but  if  you  guys  advise  to  keep  live  rock  and  can  share  the  full  details  of  maintenance  of  live  rocks,  i  am  ready  to  keep  them.  As  such  LR  is  working  out  to  be  much  cheaper  than  artificial  rock,  but  i  have  to  cut  down  on  maintenance  and  i  am  in  position  to  invest  on  artificial  rocks  but  then  this  project  might  get  delayed  by  month  or  two  which  i  dont  mind  either.

and  one  more  question,  if  at  al  i  want  to  get  anemon,  can  i  keep  it  on  artificial  rock  ??

 thanks

Anemons  should  be  kept  only  in  well  established  reef  tanks  and  they  are  very  delicate  species.  By  the  way  All  the  best  for  your  new  project.  Thumb Up

 Hi  jaival,

U  can  keep  anemones  and  they  require  a  good  amount  of  lighting  and  needed  to  feed  it  twice  a  week....If  they  are  not  satisfied  with  the  amount  of  lighting  they   get,  it  will  crawl  up  on  the  glass  to  satisfy  its  needs,
Dont  buy  the  carpet  anemones  they  are  very  aggressive  and  one  day  you  might  end  up  with  fish  bones  on  your  sand  bed.
Get  a  Bubbletip  anemone,  It'll  look  good  and  will  be  safe  for  your  fishes,
