Finally  finally  I  am  deciding  (atleast  temorarily)  on  some  theme  ...
Will  keep  two  types  of  fishes.  South  American  ones...mostly  Neons,  Cardinals,  Dwarf  Cichlids,  Angels....and  Natives  (mostly  Badis).  The  Badis  are  now  housed  in  three  different  setups.  There  are  a  few  Scarlett  Badis  in  a  18X15X15  semi  planted  (mostly  crypts  and  Ferns),  Badis  Buxah  and  Badis  Badis  in  my  4  feet  planted  setup  and  Badis  Assamenses  in  the  Paludarium.  Here  are  some  pics  of  Badis  Badis.........  amazing  colour  displays...

I  just  love  these  guys. You  would  get  plenty  of  them  out  here  in  Guwahati. But  the  non  availibility  of  live  food  is  a  real  problem. What  are  you  feeding  them?

Instrument  cooling  fans  help  keep  the  temperature  in  the  25  degrees  range...  so  not  an  issue  keeping  them  here  in  NCR...Smile

Thank  you  all....very  encouraging  comments  too:
None  of  these  Badis  were  caught  by  me,  i  got  them  from  Andrew  Rao.
regarding  breeding....let  me  learn  first  how  to  keep  them  alive  and  well  first.
Here  is  what  I  try  to  do  about  feeding.
 1.  Badis  Assamenses  and  Badis  Buxah  can  and  often  accept  dried  food....especially  dried  tubifex  cube  if  you  can  wriggle  them  enough.  But  certainly,  they  eat  much  less  in  comparison  to  providing  live  food.
 2.  Live  food  (esp  tubifex)  is  pretty  difficult  to  get  in  NCR  and  even  when  you  get  them,  the  are  too  disease  ridden.  So,  Often,  after  getting  a  new  supply  of  live  worms,  I  wash  it  well  and  keep  a  chunk  in  the  freezer.  This  I  hope  kills  all  parasites  (external  and  internal)  and  of  course  the  worms  too.  However,  if  you  serve  small  cubes  and  serve  them,  they  enjoy  the  meal!

I  love  watching  the  Badis  Buxah...especially  their  territorial  display.  Here  are  some  pics
