 Hi,
I  have  a  single  stage  ,  dual  gauge  regulator  of  make  "Eagle".  I've  been  using  it  for  about  2-3  years  now.
Off  late,  I've  noticed  that  the  output  of  the  regulator  is  at  2-4  kgs/cm2  ,  even  without  turning  the  regulator  knob.
i.e  as  soon  as  the  input  is  applied  (  from  the  cylinder  ),  the  gas  starts  flowing  from  the  output  even  without  the  regulator  knob  being  turned.  Initially  I  thought  it  may  be  because  of  the  low  pressure  in  the  cylinder  (  when  the  gas  is  almost  over  ).  But  even  with  a  newly  filled  cylinder  ,  this  is  the  case.

So,  I  assume  that  the  pressure  plates  are  faulty  and  it  needs  repairs.  Do  you  know  of  any  shops  in  Bangalore  which  repair  these  regulators  ?!
Do  the  shops  in  SP  Road  also  repair  pneumatic  items  ,  or  only  sell  them  ?!
Any  inputs  on  these  would  help.

 Regards
 Prabhu  M

Eagle  regulators  would  come  with  a  spare  diaphragm.
You  need  to  change  that,  if  you  didn't  get  a  spare  diaphragm,  then  you'll  need  to  buy  one  and  do  it  /  get  it  done.

The  diaphragm  would  have  cracked  from  long  use  at  same  pressure  setting.
The  spring  could  be  bad  too  and  may  be  at  the  compressed  setting.

Anyways,  it's  one  or  both.  You  can  buy  a  new  Eagle  regulator  for  the  cost  of  the  repair.  Sell  the  old  one,
brass  fetches  a  good  price  these  days.

 Hi  Prabhu,

 Happy  New  Year  2013.
What  did  you  do  to  get  the  Eagle  Regulator  fixed?

I  too  am  facing  similar  problem  with  the  same  product,  where  the  output  of  the  regulator  is  >  3kgs/cm2,  even  without  turning  the  regulator  knob.
The  only  way  to  get  rid  of  the  pressure  is  to  shutoff  the  main  and  release  the  excess  gas.

 Need  help  desperately.

 Regards,
 Robin

 Hi  Robin,
I  have  not  yet  got  the  regulator  repaired.  I  instead  purchased  a  new  ESAB  regulator  and  am  using  that.
Will  get  it  repaired  when  I  find  time  ,  as  finding  shops  which  repair  them  is  a  pain.
Ruchit  suggest  a  shop  in  SP  road  which  said  that  they  would  repair  Eagle  regulators.  Have  to  find  time  for  that.

 Regards
 Prabhu

 Thanks  Prabhu,  for  the  information.
So  now  I  have  the  following  options:
 *  Buy  an  ESAB  regulator(Can  you  let  me  know  from  where  did  you  buy  the  regulator  and  the  price  paid?)
 *  Look  for  shop  @  SP  Road  to  get  the  Eagle  regulator  checked(Any  information  of  the  shop  will  be  helpful)

 Regards,
 Robin
