i found this near my house, its really light... i can see that its really high in iron...
i wonder if its a single piece or a bunch of stones with hard clay? |

Hi aregias,
How did you guess the iron content?
It looks like laterite.. which has been exposed to the elements. |

red rusty color... also licked my finger by mistake
it crumbles a bit with a lot of force...
what is this miracle laterite that everybody loves so much

| Looks like a laterite rock. Similar kind of rock is available on coastal side of Maharashtra e.g. Kokan. Its locally called as "jambha stone" |

| Absolutely, Ihad used them for my tang setup. However they leach over a period. Expect some redish tinge to the water. |

It is not natural rock, these are most probably slag form various furnace operations.
they contain high amount of toxic substances, and should not be used in aquariums.
You never know what they may contain.
