how  much  light  is  needed  ?  what  water  to  pour  in  ?

Why  do  you  need  to  feed  Algae  to  your  mollies?  Any  specific  reasons?

You  can  use  the  medium  size  tub  &  keep  it  in  your  terrace  where  you  will  get  enough  light,  you  can  grow  algae  easily...but  this  approach  will  come  with  it's  own  issues  like  Mosquito's,  flies  etc.

Theres  a  recipe  on  the  net  to  make  your  own  algae  tabs  with  spinach,  spirulina.  I  think  its  mixed  together  in  a  paste  and  then  dried/baked  and  then  you  can  drop  that  for  your  mollies.

I  feed  them  algae  wafers  /  tabs

All  the  frys  born  in  my  2  feeter  were  transferred  to  my  bucket  outside.  The  bucket  out  is  full  of  green  water  and  the  mollies  love  it

Just  keep  a  couple  of  cheap  fish  (guppies)  in  stagnant  water  to  take  care  of  mosquitoes.

Well  one  way  is  leaving  a  vegetable  piece  in  water  in  a  bucket.  Keep  it  under  direct  sunlight  for  a  week.  Algae  starts  to  grow.  Other  way  is  to  leave  the  light  on  always  in  your  aquarium  and  leave  few  water  plants.  Do  this  with  the  aeration  always  on  and  no  filtration.

Do  you  want  to  keep  your  mollies  outside  in  a  big  bucket  /  pond  or  something  like  it?

Why?  Won't  Molly's  eat  Mosquito  larvae?  We  have  been  feeding  our  fishes  proprietary  food  for  so  long  that  we  have  forgotten  their  natural  food.  I  pray  that  I  get  mosquito  larvae  and  Flies  in  my  tank  Chuckle

Sunlight  for  a  short  period  of  time,  A  small  piece  of  vegetable,  Adding  Ammonia  to  the  bucket(No  fishes  till  algae  grows  thick)  etc  etc  are  different  methods  to  grow  algae.

Remember  to  cover  your  bucket  after  you  add  fishes,  till  such  time  that  they  are  well  settled.

 Regards,

For  growing  algae  ,  any  container  will  do  good.  But  if  you  plan  to  have  14  of  them  in  there  ,  make  sure  it  is  atleast  2ft*1Ft*1ft.
Plastic  is  best  as  you  can  handle  and  clean  them  easily.
Piece  of  cabbage  leaf...since  you  mentioned  14  fishes...add  couple  more  ,  keep  them  in  sunlight  for  few  hrs  every  day  and  voila  !!!!!
You  will  have  algae  and  some  mosquito  larvae  too...
 Yummy  food  for  your  livebearers....
