 Hi  dear  members
 I  am  maintaining   31"  x  15  "  x  18"(H)  planted  tank  with  contrasoil  for  a  height  of  4"  back  and  3"  front.   using  CO2  @  1  BPS
I  want  to  use  LED  FLOOD  LIGHTS  for  the  said  tank.   I  want  to  know  which  flood  lights  I  can  use.      30W  x  2     OR      20W  x  2
 Please  suggest.
 Thank  You

 Radjnair  sir,
It  will  be  better  if  you  specify  the  list  of  plants  you  want  to  grow  in  that  tank  or  else  let  us  know  if  you  are  looking  for  a  high  light  or  medium  light  setup

Hi,  I  would  suggest  T5  lights  instead  as  the  LED  floodlights  are  only  very  very  slightly  more  efficient  than  T5s.  But  if  you  like  and  want  the  little  MH  type  shimmer  then  go  for  the  LEDs.  I  would  suggest  20W  x  3  as  it  would  give  you  better  spread/coverage  and  also  flexibility

Radjanair  as  mentioned  earlier,  you  could  use  about  the  same  wattage  as  T5  to  get  your  equivalent  LED  Floodlight  wattage.  So  for  medium  light  go  for  2-3  WPG.  Your  tank  is  about  40  Gal  if  Im  not  mistaken  ?  Go  for  60W  initially  and  if  you  feel  its  too  low  then  only  bump  it  up  to  80W.  I  would  also  suggest  increasing  your  CO2  bps  to  1.5  -  2

i  am  using  30  w  x  2  for  my  48"  x  18"  x  18"  Mounted  6"  abv  water  level.  Growth  of  plant  it  good  however  i  am  thinking  of  getting  1more   to  have  even  spread  through  out  the  tank.  I  think  if  you  go  with  30w  x  2  for  31"  then  you  plant  should  rock..  Thumb Up

One  unit  of  30w  will  do  the  job.
Have  used  same  for  30x18x18  inch  tank  around  2  years  back  &  the  result  was  satisfactory.
