Dear friends
I want to know treatment for intestinal worms in Discus. All my discus are eating well. but some of them remained flat ( not fat enough ). I suspect them to be infected by intestinal worms. How to get rid off these worms ?
Can I use Prazi+Flubendazole tabs ? I want to add it in water colum rather than in food. Is flubendazole safe to use in aquariums ? Is it safe for filter ?
In regular deworming I use Metro IV. ( I do not inject. Just add to water )
Can it take care of intestinal worms ?
My tank is around 200 Ltrs. It is home for 12 discus around 4 inch size. I feed them BHM 3 times a day + occational live blood worms or tubiflex worms after a lot of washing and treating with methilineblue.
Regards

Thnks Gopi
As per your suggession I will try PLOZIN. But I am little apprihensive about Flubendezol as there are many horor stories on different discus forums regarding it's side effects.
My tank is around 200 ltrs and I have to use 2 tabs. correct ? Is there any second dose or only a single dose is enough.
As you already mentioned this drug is not effective against tapeworms, what to do about it in case I have infection ?

Hi, It is effective against Tapeworms. It is not effective against Anchor Worm which are crustecean copepods. So if you suspect that your fish are infected with tapeworm or internal helminths Plozin will be effective. The dose would be 1 TAB PLOZIN per 100 L of water .
Re: the side effect of Fenbendazole on discus( tail standing) there is a great discussion here : (You might have to register there)

Hi Yogoranda
Any specific reason why not to feed TW ? I clean it with lot of water and also disinfect with methiline blue. I feed it minimum after 48 hours after disinfected.
