 Dear  Members,

I  want  to  buy  Co2  atomic  diffuser  (Pic  attached)  for  my  nano  planted  tank.

Currently,  I'm  using  glass  diffuser  which  is  not  effective  and  the  Co2  escapes  on  the  surface.

Has  anyone  used  this  kind  of  diffuser  and  results  achieved  after  using  this.

Any  online  stores  selling  this  type  of  diffusers.  Please  post  your  feedback.

 Thanks  in  advance.

 Hi  Senthil,
First  off,  its  NOT  an  atomic  diffuser.  It  is  called  an  atomizer.  "Atomic  Diffuser"  sounds  like  something  you  use  to  shut  off  a  nuclear  warhead   ROFL   -  Just  kidding!
These  are  quite  effective,  but  they  will  be  only  as  effective  as  your  glass  diffuser.  Basically,  I  think  its  the  same  thing.
If  you  want  absolute  zero  wastage,  an  inline  diffuser  is  the  way  to  go.  But  you  must  have  a  canister  filter  for  that.  The  diffuser  is  attached  to  the  outlet  hose  of  the  filter  and  so  the  CO2  dissolves  in  the  hose  while  it  travels  through  the  hose  into  the  tank.

What  filter  are  you  using?  I'm  assuming  you're  using  pressurized  CO2.

 Hi  Athreyan,

Mine  is  a  nano  tank  and  I'm  using  an  internal  filter.

As  you  guess,  I'm  using  pressurized  Co2.  I  want  a  better  alternative  for  my  glass  diffuser  and  I  thought  of  buying  Co2  atomizer.

I  heard  atomizer  releases  mist  of  bubbles  which  can  be  easily  dissolved  in  water.  Any  shop  sells  this  kind  of  diffusers  in

Chennai  or  online  stores  selling  this  Co2  atomizer.  Any  information  on  this  would  be  a  great  help.

Hi  Senthil,   No  much  difference.   The  glass  diffuser  is  small.  The  atomizer  is  little  bigger  than  the  glass  diffuser.   The  working  is  same.
Like  eating  idli,  vada   or  vada,  idly.

 Hi  Janardanam  Sir,

Thanks  for  the  clarification.  If  there  is  no  difference,  then  I  use  glass  diffuser.

Hi.  I'm  using  them  for  the  past  4  months.  The  one  thing  I  find  is  that  the  size  of  the  bubbles  the  automizer  emits  are  finer  than  the  ones  glass  diffusers  emit  but  automizer  needs  more  pressure  to  work.   Anyways  I  got  them  from  aqua  star  kolathur.

@Senthil...Place  your  glass  diffuser  under  opening  in  your  internal  filter...I  bet  this  will  improve  C02  dissolving  @  better  rate   Smile

 Regards,
 Senthil

 Senthil,
you  will  not  be  able  to  use  an  inline  diffuser  with  the  internal  filter.
Just  one  clarification:  are  the  bubbles  from  your  glass  diffuser  not  small  enough  or  are  you  saying  that  they  just  reach  the  top  without  disappearing?

If  the  bubbles  are  larger  than  usual,  it  is  possible  that  your  ceramic  disc  is  clogged.  just  try  cleaning  it  &  put  it  back.  Should  work.
If  your  problem  is  that  the  bubbles  are  not  dissipating,  try  placing  your  diffuser  in  a  different  position.  you  could  place  it  next  to  the  filter  intake  or  directly  under  the  outlet  of  the  filter.  typically  you  must  place  the  diffuser  in  a  place  with  good  water  movement.  if  you  can  manage  a  place  with  a  downward  draft,  then  that'll  be  best.

IMO  there  will  not  be  any  difference  with  an  atomizer.

Can  you  give  tank  dimensions  &  CO2  rate.  Also,  if  possible,  post  a  pic  of  your  tank  so  that  people  can  suggest  proper  placement  of  diffuser.
