the  inlet  fron  first  to  2nd  chamber  is  going  to  be  from  the  top  right  ?  If  so  then  add  an  internal  pipe  going  from  the  inlet  to  the  bottom  of  the  2nd  filter.  Another  tip  fill  your  media  in  net  bags  with  strings  tied  to  them  to  make  them  easy  to  remove

No!  fix  the  pump  in  the  2nd  filter  cap.  thats  the  professional  way.  The  cap  should  be  versatile  enough  for  removing  and  replacing  during  clean-up  of  media  and  pump.

Let  the  water  drop  down  draft  by  suction  pump  from  the  tank.

You  have  to  push  the  clean  water  up  by  pump  whle  returning.

If  you  want  my  "Air  ¬†Pump  Theory"  I  can  give  you  that  also.

it  is  more  economical  and  worth  while  for  a  3ftr  tank.  The  ltr/hr  will  be  somewhere  around  300ltr/hr.

Since  you  have  2  canisters,  it  will  be  fine.

if  you  take  percy,s  idea  of  top  bottom  of  second  can  then  place  the  power  head  in  the  bottom  of  the  second  can.
let  the  water  flow  out  from  bottom  of  second  can
further  have  a  look  at  you  building  pvc  drain  pipes  you  ll  find  some  solution  there,  I  mean  to  say  bigger  wayed  joints  as  mentioned  by  Hamza

The  AIR  Pump  Water  circulation  Diagram

if  you  want  to  use  it.

You  can  see  the  video  of  half  the  project....  already  locked  up  earlier.

Below  is  the  actual  working  which  will  lift  water  up  to  atleast  3ft  to  4ft.  You  may  need  to  tweak  the  air  stone  height  as  per  the  height  of  the  pipe  and  air  pressure.  The  water  suppply  will  start  slowly  and  as  pressure  reises  you  get  atleast  300ltr/hr  water  flow.  It  will  have  some  head  loss  of  about  20%  due  to  air  pressure  and  weight  adjustment  of  the  water  at  the  valve  end.

You  can  make  a  small  spring  valve  with  a  thermocol  taped  all  around  to  workd  as  a  needle  valve  which  will  keep  bobbing  up  and  down.

I  always  knew  that  the  groundbreaking  A.P.W.C.D  will  be  the  key  to  the  success  of  Project  Deb-fezz  (D.B.E.F.S).
