Looking  for  micro  nutrient  preferably  in  Chennai  area.  Mine  is  going  to  run  out  in  a  month  or  so.  Where  to  get  this  stuff?

Dont  think  any  of  the  stores  sell  genuine  micro  nutrients.  You  get  JBL  ferropol  which  is  closest  to  a  micro  nutrient,  but  expensive.....  Most  hobbiest  just  buy  the  chinese  brans  like  ocean  free  or  similar  which  gives  them  satisfaction  that  they  are  doing  something  for  the  plants.  But  if  you  look  at  the  chemistry  and  how  these  things  should  be  made,  its  very  difficult  to  sell  them  at  a  low  cost  and  in  those  kind  of  packing.  I  think  if  you  get  the  lab  grade  chemicals  then  you  would  be  able  to  get  a  product  worth  using.  There  are  some  threads  in  iah  where  someone  has  mentioned  how  to  do  that.  To  give  an  example,  iron  does  not  stay  in  the  liquid  form  for  a  long  time.  The  micro  nutrients  you  get  for  200--300  bucks  claim  to  have  everything  from  iron  to  molybdenum.  These  things  have  to  be  obtained  in  a  form  which  can  preserve  its  state  for  a  longer  duration.  Ideally,  if  you  do  a  10-50%  water  change  every  week  your  micro  nutrients  should  all  be  restored  (provided  you  are  not  using  RO  water).  I  would  just  dump  some  form  of  chelated  iron  apart  from  the  macro  nutrients......  There  are  products  available  online  from  foreign  websites  where  people  can  boy  CSM-B  which  a  lot  of  people  use  effectively.   See  if  you  can  get  some  of  those.  Might  be  ask  other  people  if  they  are  interested  in  sharing  and  then  you  can  order  in  bulk  which  should  be  economic  of  everyone....
IF  you  still  want  to  console  yourself  with  chinese  micro  nutrients,  you  get  them  in  most  stores  in  Kolathur.  As  mentioned  earlier,  JBL  ferropol  would  be  a  good  alternative(German)  which  has  worked  for  a  lot  of  people  including  me,  before  I  switched  to  chelated  iron  from  a  lab.  Our  tap  water/well  water  is  very  rich  in  those  micros  and  so  a  regular  water  change  should  take  care  of  your  micro  needs.  If  you  got  some  heavy  red  plants,  you  could  supplement  with  chelated  iron.

If  someone  sells  ready  made  macro  and  micro  fertilisers,  he  would  make  a  killing.
 Jbl  ferropol  has  chelated  iron?

Thank  you  guys.  So  far  I  am  using  MicroSol  and  some  how  Shrimps  are  not  surviving.  Is  it  because  of  Copper  in  Microsol  or  my  nEon  Rainbows?

Early  next  month  I'll  be  visiting  NY  city  for  business  and  should  try  few  places.

I  tried  various  places  in  Chennai,  but  no  luck.  I  found  Saravana  Chemicals  info  in  this  forum.  They  too  don't  have  any  stock.   I  just  have  Ferropol  and  it  doesn't  have  phosphates  and  nitrates.  It  just  remedies  iron  and  potassium  deficiency  only.

 1.  Which  shops  in  Kolathur  carry  these  chemicals   -  Potassium  Nitrate  KNO3  (Nitrate),  Mono   Potassium  Phosphate   KH2PO4  (Phosphate),  Potassium  sulfate  ,  Magnesium  Sulphate  (MgSO4)  &  Plantex  CSM  +  B?

 2.  Seachem  products  are  the  only  way  out?   Which  shop  in  Kolathur  usually  stocks  it?

 3.  Where  do  you  get  microsol  b  ?

 4.  Any  other  alternatives  in  Chennai?

Went  to  Kolathur  and  got  the  Macro  &  Micro  Nutrients  from  AquaRemedies.   Anybody  used  it  before?

Plant  Food   -  Has  macro  minerals  including  nitrogen,  potassium,  plant  growth  stimulators,  essential  nutrients  and  minerals
Plant  Health  Formula  -  PHF  contains  chelated  iron,  zinc,  cobalt,  manganese,  boron,  and  other  micro  minerals.

Seachem  Flourish  -  available  in  AquaStar.     Dinesh  /  Fish  Aquarium  Home  -  Delhi   also  carries  it.   Heard  from  AquaStar,  lots  of  duplicates  in  NewDelhi.  Any  feedback?

I  know  very  well  "Dinesh  /  Fish  Aquarium  Home  -  Delhi"  is  the  supplier  of  Seachem  Products  in  India,  I  think  Rs.900  is  for  500ml  (inclusive  of  courier  charges  ???)

AquaRemedies  sells  macro  &  micro  nutrients  -  220ml  for  Rs.120  which  works  out  to  be  a  cheaper  option  compared  to  Seachem.  Not  sure  about  the  quality  of  the  product.

Yes.  I  tried  aqua  remedies  micro  ferts,  it's  good  for  the  price.  I  could  visibly  see  red  plants  showing  deep  red  even  without  co2  injection

Can  you  please  post  some  of  your  red  plants  pics?????
I  have  already  tried  aqua  remedies  a  couple  of  times  but  dont  remember  the  results  as  it  is  back  1  year  :-)

I  dont  mind  giving  it  a  try  again  as  I  have  a  bunch  of  rotala  red  in  my  80  gallon  shrimp/discus  tank.
