well  first  of  all  i  don't  know  if  this  is  scape  or  not!  but  this  is  my  first  planted  tank  which  i've  made  and  i  guess  its  come  out  well.
still  setting  to  the  way  i  wanted  it.  anyway  from  day1  when  i  didn't  know  anything  about  plants  to  now  i  have  learnt  a  lot  about  plants  to  thanks  to  all  the  hobbyists!

reason  why  i  called  it  "stairway  to  heaven"  is  because  i  wanted  it  to  make  it  looks  like  steps.  h.tripartita  and  e.tenellus  being  the  first  step,  second  step  christmas  moss,  and  so  on.

anyway  here's  the  tank  story  from  day  1!

 may  20th  2013
I  didn't  know  what  hardscaping  meant,  nor  did  i  bother  planning.  i  had  some  random  plants  given  by  hobbyists  and  some  moss.
i  just  wanted  to  make  a  tank  where  my  shrimps  would  live  comfortably.  didn't  care  about  it  looks  or  anything.

 july  22nd  2013
i  learnt  something  about  plants,  like  their  names  and  where  they  are  to  be  placed.  learnt  that  some  plants  require  co2,  so  i  made  a  diy  co2  which  ran  for  three  weeks,  then  required  a  change  every  third  week.  i  dumped  whatever  plants  i  got,  even  floating  plants  (frogbit  and  azolla)  which  led  to  an  attack  of  planaria  on  my  shrimps.  silly  assasisin  snails  bred  like  crazy  and  found  eggs  everywhere.

 september  19th  2013
i  used  to  stupidly  leave  the  lights  on  for  12  hours,  tank  got  infested  with  hair  algae  and  dust  algae.
only  thing  which  i  liked  about  the  tank  was  how  the  riccia  pearled  and  how  the  shrimps  were  populating  like  rabbits.  i  got  plants  from  scapers  which  barely  survived  in  my  tank,  i  was  about  to  give  up  then  i  changed  my  lighting  to  an  18w  pll  and  started  adding  ferts.

 october  22nd  2013
i  started  to  learn  quickly  about  how  a  planted  tank  should  actually  be  maintained,  started  trimming  on  a  weekly  basis  and  all  the  algae  vanished  away  soon,  except  a  bit  on  the  walls  which  i  left  for  the  shrimplets  to  munch  on.i  got  annoyed  with  riccia  because  it  created  a  mess  and  stood  out,  so  replaced  it  with  mini  fissidens.

 october  30th  2013
once  you  get  a  good  grasp  on  it,  its  so  easy,  i  started  trimming  plants  twice  a  week,  shrimps  are  still  populating  although  i  remove  10  every  now  and  then.  actually  my  tank  isn't  cloudy  anymore  just  that  my  camera  sucks!
i'm  learning  quiet  a  lot  about  scaping  but  don't  know  if  i  can  call  my  tank  a  scape,  but  i  like  it  even  though  it  has  a  lot  to  improve  on.  this  was  taken  yesterday  just  before  i  did  some  trimming  and  added  some  plants  as  well  as  removed  some  plants.

will  be  uopdating  soon,  i  have  removed  some  plants  and  added  some  new  plants  which  i  got  from  seetharam.  hopefully  it'll  turn  out  great!  :D

                        1l  of  ADA  amazonia
                         few  handfuls  of  crushed  laterite
i  am  not  exactly  ure  about  what  ferts  i  dose,  but  its  a  mixed  bottle  which  i  got  from  a  hobbyist,  dosed  every  morning.
