Hi  guys  I  am  posting  here  after  a  long  time.  I  am  in  Netherland  since  few  months  now  and  will  be  here  for  some  time.  I  had  to  give  up  all  my  fishes  in  India  before  coming  here  and  thought  I  would  not  do  it  for  long  time  again.  But  I  couldn't  resist  the  temptation  and  I  started  off  with  a  60  ltr  simple  tank  with  anubias  and  guppies.  Being  a  rupee  guy  I  find  all  stuffs  related  to  hobby  here  quite  expensive  and  some  how  managed  to  get  few  used  things  to  begin.  Everythings  seems  to  good  except  this  bogwoods  which
i  never  used  in  India.  Even  after  several  weeks  of  soaking  in  water  they  still  leaching  the  tans.  Would  this  tanning  block  the  lights  to  the  plants  ?  I  always  used  malaysian  or  african  drift  wood  earlier  but  its  difficult  to  find  here.

 Emmanuel,
I  think  the  plants  will  be  fine  with  the  lights  they  are  receiving  now..  In  fact,  Anubias  can  grow  in  just  ambient  light  in  the  room.
Some  woods  leach  tannin  for  longer  periods,  And  tannins  are  not  bad  for  fish  either..  So,  enjoy  the  tank  for  now.

Fishes  will  love  for  sure   but  at  present  the  lights  are  quite  low  15  w  for  58  ltrs  my  worry  is  this  tanning  should  not  reduce  the  light  intensity  further

As  far  as  I  know  Anubias  are  very  hardy  and  low  light  plants  and  looking  at  your  tank,  it  will  do  just  fine  I  think.  As  nidhi  said  enjoy  your  tank  and  keep  a  watch  on  Anubias

The  tanning  looks  good  in  your  tank,  let  it  be.  In  time  it  will  go  away.  However  you  can  accelerate  its  removal  by  frequent  water  changes.

Its  fine  be  cool.  You  should  have  ideally  soaked  or  boiled  the  wood  beforehand  but  no  issues  as  it  doesnt  seem  to  be  giving  off  to  much  of  tannins.

PS  :  Its  tannins  not  tanning  and  definitely  not  tans

Anubias  grow  well  with  just  room  light.  In  fact  my  anubias  in  the  tank  with  no  external  lights  have  less  issues  than  compared  to  the  one  with  any  light.  So  dont  worry  at  all
