 Hi  guyz,
I  have  been  keeping  aquatic  plants  for  over  a  year  and  a  half  and  this  hobby  is  adictive.  I  kept  a  low  tech  planted  tank  but  recently  came  across  a  bunch  of  ludwigia(  getting  aquatic  plants  in  jaipur  is  real  tough.  I  have  collected  sm  13  types  of  plant  species  and  took  me  over  2.5  years)  and  decided  to  go  a  bit  deeper  in  this  hobby.  I  decided  to  use  DIY  fertilizer  since  commercial  aquarium  fertz  are  neither  in  my  budget  nor  available  locally.   Can  I  use  MOP(  KCl)  and  Diammonium  Phosphate  for  fertilizing  the  tank?
I  read  somewhere  that  in  Diammonium  Phosphate(DAP)  the  amount  of   phosphate  present  is  3  times  that  of  ammonia  and  since  phosphates  are  required  in  small  amount  so  ammonia  wont  be  a  problem.  Can  I  really  use  them?
If  yes  then  what  dosing  should  I  follow?  My  tank  is  15  gallon  wid  2.5  watt  pe  gallon  lights.  Will  re-add  diy  Co2.
How  much  kCl  and  DAP  should  I  use  for  making  liquid  solution.  Would  greatly  appriciate  if  you  could  tell  the  amount  of  salts  to  add  in  terms  of  tbsp  and  tea  spoons.
 Thanks.

I  dont  think  you  can  use  ammonia  directly,  actually  we  are  all  trying  to  reduce  it.  Ammonia  is  generated  a  by  product  of  decaying  leaves,  food  and  fish  waste..  that  itself  causes  lots  of  problem.

for  land  plants  its  diff  story,  but  for  aquarium  environment  we  need  to  add  nitrite  like  kno3  or  cano3

ammonia  will  harm  your  fish  and  invite  alge

It  is  true  that  ammonia  harms  fishes  but  in  DAP  for  every  mol  of  Ammonia  there  are  three  mols  of  Phosphate.  If  I  wanna  achieve  1  ppm  of  phosphate,  ammonia  will  increase  by  only  0.33  ppm.
