Hello. I have a question regarding Pethia setnai, specifically regarding the degree of red/orange color in the dorsal fin of males. I've seen many photos and several videos that show a great range, from intense color to virtually none. Does this reflect the different conditions under which the fish are being kept, or is it related to age, or is it actual variation among populations of fish?

You should try get in touch with Dr.Marcus Knight.(http://indianaquariumhobbyist.com/community/modules.php?name=Profile&mode=viewprofile&u=5036) hope he sees your post.
well, I am not the expert, but from other species I had, it generally is due to seasonal changes. But if your collection is from very distinctly far areas, you might be up having a different variant. But generally is not so starkly different in color, perhaps slightly different pattern.
