Hornwort is a nutrient puller. Good for absorbing ammonia and Nitrates. So it will grow like a weed as long as it gets it. It does not need to be rooted in substrate and can grow loosely or floating
Fish fry love to hide in it. There are 3-4 types of them which you can see online. In what ever setup you keep them its good to dose a bit of micro and macros for them to consume.
I have 2 bowls. 1 in my bedroom and 1 in my living room. The one in the bedroom which gets ambient light in a 1 litre bowl with 2-3 fish frys with weekly change of 50% water. Weekly I dose 2-5 ml of micro/macros in it. The heat can thin out the leaves and glut can slowly melt the plant.
Another bowl which is 2 litres is kept near a direct sunlight opaque window with some shrimps and a baby loach in it. In this also I dose some micro and macro nutrients weekly.
In these bowls it has circled around and grown 2-3 feet. Cut it and it will grow more.
